Just experienced this. a couple of guys streaming over 14 hours per day on a weekend, carrying nearly 100 players to mercury. They are absolute pros.. even a team of three rarely had a chance against them solo. Which kind of negates the idea of the trials.. You don't have to be good, you just need to know one of the thousands of streamers that try to make some money on twitch and Ustream. so basically now Destiny is finally official "pay to win" =)
besides i am a little bit sad that Mercury was obviously once part of a story mission (since only story missions have dead bodies laying around in "public space" (see "undying mind" revamped story mission as a strike) ) and judging from the intro, it was already availliable in 2013.
and a little advice to ease up the discussion about it: open it to the public and make the chest only availiable with "osiris' key" like the one in the PoE.. since its a pretty view there to visit it once..
ah and one thing on top: a little bit sad that you obviously can't reroll your adept weapons... didnt need another arc scout -.- whatever.. =)
was fun while it lasted...

2 RespuestasNot another one of these. God this is ridiculous. Go back to PvE
-
Buddy and I have helped several guys go to the lighthouse. To0 is just fun to play

I think the only way a game can be labeled pay to win, is by paying the company for advantages over other players. Whether getting the best equipment faster maybe level advantages or perks not available to people that don't spend extra money.

5 RespuestasBecause the story is the joke of the century

To point this out.. Absolutely and clear: this is a good thing, its one of the first times there is something like a community thing in destiny, while it mostly was a "my snowflake is better than your snowflake" issue .. And from an economical point of view it makes way more sense to pay a few bucks for an hour of fun than sinking plenty of hours into futile tries ^^

I've now helped a handful of sub par pvpers go flawless.
-
So what you could do that in any game. Even before destiny existed.
-
5 RespuestasDude do you actually know what is pay to win? Destiny is isn't even close to such a game. If you are gonna cry because only pro people play TOO just go play in normal crucible because TOO is ment for pro people, not for casuals.

1 RespuestaJust helped two guys go flawless for their first time. Their thanks was all I needed.

6 RespuestasIts not pay-to-win I jumped in with two randoms and we went flawless (well 7-1 with boons, not-so-flawless). I didnt pay a thing to them nor did they pay a thing to me.

6 RespuestasI really don't understand the draw to Mercury - it's good for loot but that's it. If that loot was changed exit week and dropped as soon as you got 9-0 then I wouldn't feel any disappointment about not going there. The community calls it a social space but it's far from it.

Yeah I've seen people with 0.65 and worse k/ds with Trials gear and elemental primaries. I'm at a 1.19 and can't even get a damn team on LFG to play it. Maybe this week after Iron Banner when I'll finally have some EL to get to 33-34.

1 RespuestaIt's gona be part of the future dlc so everyone will have a chance to visit it soon.
-
I think trials is as it's always been intended to be we've know for awhile it was going to be a thing n I think the lighthouse was always the place you got to go for flawless run.

2 RespuestasPay to Win is a way a developer of the game makes some money. Did any developers get anything from that? No. World of Warcraft had gold sellers for as long as it existed. Black Market in Pandaria made it so you could buy heroic gear for gold. Is WoW - Pay to Win? No.
