Are We Being Fooled ???
I've read several posts about players talking about the upcoming upgrades for weapons, which weapons they will upgrade, weapons they regret dismantling, etc., and I'm concerned that we may be getting the wrong message from Bungie.
Do we really know that ALL legendary 300 and 331 weapons will be upgradable to 365?? The only image I've seen or know about related to this is the one of the Fatebringer with the 300 to 365 text on it. Since the Fatebringer is a VOG raid weapon, my gut tells me that the only legendary weapons that will be upgradable to 365 will be the raid weapons, and it won’t necessarily be that the currently held ones will be “upgradable”.
Think about it.....
1. According to the Planet Destiny database, there is a list of new legendary 365 weapons. Many with the same stats and perks as previous 300 and 331 weapons. Why have those if everyone can just upgrade what they currently have? With no grind to obtain new gear, Bungie cannot keep players playing all the time. Grinding for weapons and gear is one of the main reasons players keep playing after they finish the ‘story’.
2. With a new higher 34 level coming, Bungie needs to find a way to keep VOG and CE playable. Why would players want to play VOG for 300 max level weapons when the default starting level on HoW is 331 and with upgrades the 365 is much higher than VOG.
I think Bungie will introduce new higher levels to VOG and CE, with the rewards for those being the same weapons and gear, but with the new 365 level. If you want those new 365 weapons, you'll have to do the raid at the new higher level. Any existing raid weapons you currently have pre-HoW will not upgrade.
There will be no upgrading for pre-existing vendor weapons. You'll have to buy the new 365 vendor ones.
If it's anything other than what I've outlined above, I will be very surprised. Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised!
Bungie dangled a carrot on a stick with that image of the Fatebringer 300-365 image, but I’m concerned it’s just a clever marketing ploy to build excitement.
Anyone else with thoughts on this?? What do you think?

1 RespuestaPersonally I hope the only legendary weapons that get buffed to 365 are the Raid weapons. All other legendaries and Vendor weapons should stay where they are. That way people will learn to use new things instead of just using the same weapons over and over through every DLC. That being said, they should give us half of the energy we put into a weapon back when we dismantle it. The current 331 weapons will still be useful at the for most activities at the lower damage rate, just like the 300 weapons are now.

10 RespuestasI feel iron banner weps should be upgradable. Purely based off the fact its the PvP version of a raid. I can understand vendor legendaries. But those should be the only weapons you can't upgrade.

About your reason 1, there are weapons I have with great perks and its hard to find a gun like them.with that roll. So I would hope old legendaries are upgradeable, I really hope so man otherwise its going to be hard to let go.

A lot of people requested VoG gear be upgradeable, so it is happening, and I guess E gear will be as well. Exotics certainly will be, can you imagine the salt if Gjallarhorn was left to become obsolete, or Icebreaker?

Looks like you're wrong at least about upgrading our raid gear. New teaser shows that there will be some type of reset and new upgrade path for our existing raid weapons and armour

I actually want it the way you describe. I don't want to be stuck with my old guns but I would love to go back to the vault to have to earn those glorious weapons again. But I play more than the average joe so maybe it's just the hardcore player in me.

Look at the new how trailer I think new higher level raids and you get a reward like and exotic shard so you can upgrade it

Because of the names and designs. They only have about 30 perks in total. And you are getting those weapons for free. Not for vanguard commendations

Nailed it. Nothing will be given. It will only be raid weapons. No way will you be able to walk up to vendor day of dlc launch and get a 365Fatebringer good luck.

On the teaser trailer is shows some green orb on the left hand of the upgrades being selected, looks like some kind of end game consumable like the crux

Look at the teaser vid for the twitch stream tomorrow. It shows raid gear being leveled. And no, I highly doubt it will be all legendaries, more likely just raid gear and weapons

Someone had a link from bungie that was talking about legendary and exotics which left it open to believe that all weapons and armor will be upgradeable. In the link dee j talked about how we all wanted our weapons to be upgraded and this would be the solution. I think it makes sense to level them all up because it's obvious this game was ment to be collectible based its just to bad they -blam!-ed up the vault layout and space before the game shipped. Also yes perks and such can be found on any gun of specific types but to find stats similar to old guns i have not seen. For instance my devil you know has awesome stats but I have not seen any gun with similar stats. They are always lacking and in crucible stats mean everything besides skill. I got my devil you don't close but it's still not better. My shadow price has only a few comparisons but I've found no auto rifle better then my vendor version. So yes I hope they increase all our stuff to make it relevant. But if they don't I won't be mad nor will I get rid of my stuff.
