If you vote no, it's probably because you use a shotgun. If you vote yes it's because you realize how over used they are in pvp Let's talk "fun" Wouldn't it be more "fun" getting into gun battles and shoot outs with your team vs just running around as a 1 man wrecking machine trucking and 1 shotting players in a 6v6 and per bungie a team oriented game? In halo the shotgun was a power weapon. During halo 3 the shotgun was overwhelmingly recognized to be overpowered and instead of using shotguns MLG used a single mauler because that alone was considered extremely powerful on a small map like guardian and larger maps like the pit had 2 of them on complete opposite sides of the map and while you didn't expect many players to use it you never once saw a pro player pass up the opportunity to grab it and if he got someone in range they were in trouble. .. from a mauler Now, shotguns run rampant in pvp. Sure it's just a game and all guns should be optional only problem is all guns aren't optional. There's a laundry list of gun types just not in destiny and I think shotgun should of been added to that list in the interest of fun and teamwork and gunplay. I have a hunter, I have shotguns, I don't do it often but I've been that guy. I normally prefer my efrideets spear, before that bh for snapshot and before that pradeyth. But shotguns just take away from the game. 1 person puts the weight of the game on their shoulders and runs around blinking and trucking people with their shotgun and no matter how the gun is nerfed it's still overused. It's time for a pvp without shotguns. They offer nothing to the team. Kill times are fast enough. The instant spawning is too much already and just puts players on a hamster wheel of death, sprint, instaspawn, rinse and repeat. I can handle a shotgun user. I'm not here to complain that they kill me. In fact check my stats I haven't played pvp in a few weeks because it's just boring. Every game is a player or 2 on each team getting as many kills as fast as they can so they win before the smoggypluto wannabe dies so many times you lose the match. That's dumb. It's a game based on a score and not a race to the finish. So players load up with shotguns and sprint around blasting people so they can win first. Not lose, because remember there are no losers in destiny. Just who can win first. I really would like to see a pvp where my teammates aren't complete fxcking idiots and the games leading scorer isn't primarily using a shotgun the entire game. Edit** At no point did I think this post would pull shotguns from the game. The title is to make a point. That point being in pvp shotguns force the game to move a certain way and force players run straight at each other. Less skilled players typically are running straight forward anyway often into an experienced players shotgun. I have zero problems killing a player using one and of course have been killed my fare share but I have plenty of pvp experience. If you don't play pvp it absolutely amazes me how you think your opinion carries weight. My final round sniper should be pulled from the game. I don't sit back and snipe. See videos below. But it's there so I use it just like skilled players with shotguns and the only difference is I'm willing to give up my op weapon in the spirit of fun and balanced gameplay. Comments like "get gud" and "rekt" are idiots who didn't read the op or even stat check me. Regarding the nerfs, it's clear the nerfs are having no effect on shotgun use or choice as a special weapon. Meaning the nerfs aren't working. The nerfs aren't being done for shxts and giggles they are being done for balance and good gameplay and when they don't work you might as well of not nerfed them at all meaning it's time to try something else. With that said, I'm gonna go play some warframe.
