I actually like not being able to have every single gun in the vault.
The choices. Picking and choosing. It makes everything feel worth more.
And Trading is a horrible idea. People will find some way to exploit it. It would make everything too acquirable. I would love one of the 5 gjallarhorns one of my friends has been blessed with (since i dont have one) but it would feel so much better to randomly get it when my time is due.
Trading would just be waiting till one of your friends have another one of whatever item they keep getting.
Or you would be interviewing the creator of destinytrade.com (or something of that order) about how they successfully took the value out of every gear in destiny.

Trust me, it didn't feel any better getting my ghorn from a drop, my obsidian mind from xur's engram, my icebreaker bought from xur, my icebreaker dropped from crota, my thorn/bad juju or the suros I got in pvp. Trading would be fine if they implemented it like they did in D3 ROS

They would have to take care not to screw it up.

How about an exotic for an exotic? Equal weapon tiers would work pretty well

Edited by Logikal Reazon: 2/1/2015 6:15:01 PMHmm. Tier for tier. I cant see any holes in that.. Yet. Edit: I think it would still be too easy to aquire the really rare exotic. There are too few ultra rares.
