I'm pretty sure that Bungie didn't have a team of scientists advising how to make Destiny entirely believable. Majority of the explanations for all the faults like identical gravity to earth etcetera have just been attributed to lazy writing on the part of the developers. Just another way to save some money by forcing us to use our imagination to fill gaps.
