For Crota checkoint, I agree with you. But for all other parts it is useful. If you die in the pit: self revive, and keep helping your team. If you die at the bridge: good for cheesing, 'cause the ads will despawn. For deathsinger: YOLO inside, when shriekers are down, shoot a few rockets inside, and die: self revive, a few grenades until she is dead, then run out, and kill the rest of the hive.
