Why do sunsingers use self res in CROTA hard?
Do YALL suck that much? First, Oversouls is tough af to kill, and if you get down and have to shoot it, it ruins the entire rotation.
(Crota encounter only, still I can't see how you die in any other part)
(I said self res not radiance, for those who have no comprehensive skills)
(For those saying I suck because you think I struggle with oversoul, if you die while on the ledge you are utter trash, the only possible way you should die is during a transition where nobody has time to shoot the oversoul.)
(Swordbearers can be exempt I guess, but If Crota Hulk smashes you that still messes up timing)
(Never said I couldn't kill oversoul, I said it messes up timing)

If I run Sunsinger in hard mode CE I always use Song of Flame instead of Fireborn.

We have killed Crota thanks to self rez, you just never know a lot happens in the heat of battle usually a good sun singer will ask his or her team before reviving.

If I'm swordbearer I will because sometimes crota has glitches (what bungie didn't fix something) and either hits you while going down or instantly stands up. Allows the team to kill oversoul and still have 6 to keep the run going.

2 RepliesOne question, if a self reviving Warnock did die on Crota hard, why wouldn't he/she self res? More firepower to kill oversold, and +1 more teammate to take down Crota shield. If you don't die, that's great too, but I see no reason to not use self res. Only if crota is standing on you, would I not use it. Please explain why you wouldn't. Thanks.

As you can see my buddy Carnage the warlock was using the sword and he died... he self revived and finished crota wi th millaseconds left.... clutch

4 RepliesBecause it's the difference between a wipe and a kill? If you die, you're out of the game. If you die and revive, you're still in the game and can contribute as much as before. Accidents happen to all classes, only one of them is able to continue afterwards

Kind of handy before the oversoul activates. A guy on my team was very low health after the acolytes and knights at the beginning, killed himself and rezd for full health. That was kind of cool.

Exactly I'm a warlock but I don't use that. I use radiance to drop orbs for my team or voidwalker.

It never hurts to have a backup. I have accidentally died and res, killed oversoul and finished the rest of crota. Yes I'm level 31. I have completed the crota fight over 10 times at least. To be honest I rarely use res during the fight. But it can prevent a wipe.

I'm always the Sword Bearer so for me it's especially necessary to use the self-res, but even without being the sword bearer it's still often more useful to self-res than it is to use other options of Radiance or Voidwalker, everything kills you so fast in the Crota fight that you often have no warning before you die and stopping to use your super and regenerate health isn't an option. It depends on the person and if you never (or almost never) die doing whatever role you're doing, so be it you don't need to use the self-res, if you are going to die more than rarely though then it's better to be able to get back up than to die and stay dead, at least that way you can help shoot the Oversoul your death spawns and try to keep the run going.

1 ReplyI can generate between 7-11 orbs off re spawn through kill the Knights and Acolytes.... Apart from the Titan bubble all other supers have little help in the Crota fight....and which super can generate orbs the easiest to recharge other players health & supers? Sunslinger. #thinkbeforeyoupost
