I tried to afk while my buddy did patrols so I could go get food and he could still get me rep and xp. I put a hair tie on the joy stick so I would continue to spin and spin. I came back from subway and it afkd me out. How he hell do people do this? Still haven't been able to figure it out. And btw I don't do this in strikes. My buddy agreed to do patrols for me while I went to get food

Yea. The joystick trick my friends use, in say, nightfalls and if they're in a safe spot. But even that situation is not the same as someone abusing it with strangers.
