Actually, this is a great idea. Many, despite age or injury are proud to have served. They will be honest with you and you'll get a great mix of opinions.

WW1 and WW2 were very different than Vietnam and the military is very different now most have told me not to join . WW1 and WW2 vets were proud Vietnam vets are angry and not happy with the government Gulf vets are a mix bag

Edited by BurntRubber5: 1/5/2015 3:36:28 PMTrue, war has evolved a lot even since the Gulf War. We have far more armor, better Intel, and a far lower casualty rate. Injuries are still high among combat MOSs. Also, being in and around it day in and day out most of us would do it again.

Not the point Vietnam and all wars after have been about money and power not about protecting the innocent. This is what most vets have told me so I didn't join .

And if you ask the vets at the VA more than half will tell you they would go back and do it again. Please if you have never served dont speak for us vets

you missed the point I take care of three vet that's my father my father in law and my uncle and the wars they served in were true wars and the wars that are fought nowadays are more about power and corruption and greed and money makers for Halliburton. The vets in my house would serve in World War one and two but would not serve in Vietnam again and would not serve in the military now.

This is not fully correct I have met many vets from many different wars who are proud to have served some yes are pissed at the Government but for the most part most aren't
