Funny that, you look at every war and see people from across the globe spilling each others blood for a cause they may not know/believe in.
War is sad, simple. Look back at the history of war in the US. You'll see that something changed after ww2. It was the way death was dealt, not so much in the korean war but that lead up to this disconnect that people feel when hitting someone with a shell from 1 mile out, it just doesn;'t FEEL like combat.
During the early wars it was said that over 80% of all soldiers would not intentionally shoot an enemy, even if their lives depended on it!!. Can you believe that? It's because of the physical proximity of combat in those days. Made death very, very real. And people don't inherently want to kill other people.
I know that was completely off topic. But i see your point when you look at the big picture: a guy in a chair in an office signs a piece of paper which leads to an 18 yr old from oklahoma getting on a plane, heading 14,000 miles away and taking another mans life. That's just how shit works, like it or not.
