So Silimar's Wrath. Rank 5 reward for Iron Banner. Does it suck? (quicky review)

This was for the first Silimars Wrath, from the second Iron Banner in Dec of 2014. Be aware this was pre autorifle nerf and not the same rifle that can be obtained from the IB now.

I absolutely LOVE this thing!
With Counterbanlance AND Perfect Balance this weapon has the highest rate of fire possible but one of the easiest to control drifts ive seen in anything of the same family of high ROF weapons. Its like Atheons Epilogue, but doesn't disappoint at full upgrade.
Not so viable for PvE but PvP it is almost a terror. I can top the score charts very easily with this weapon.
If you are Rank 5 or Rank 4 and close to 5 I highly recommend giving this weapon a try.
Also 66 Shots per mag and Glass Half Full? It really is an upgraded Atheons Epilogue. Minus the void damage. But who really needs that?

3 RepliesAmen brother! I love this weapon to the core. Last week was the first full week where I've grinded for Iron Banner rep. I started off using oversoul edict, red death, and my old favorite, MIDA Multi-tool; however, I got bored of doing good with these guns so I started off using auto rifles. When I finally did get this gun, it was by far my favorite AR of all (I don't have SUROS btw). The weapon pulls straight up, making it much easier to control than Atheon's. Just strap on a sniper rifle for ranged shots and your good to go (personally, I use patience and time, but the VoG one is just as good.) I even love it in PVE as it will shut down enemies (when the "angry" modifier isn't on.) There is nothing more entertaining than seeing a cabal do a death dance before his head explodes. Sure, this weapon does poorly against tier 2 mobs; however, that's what your secondaries and heavies are for anyways. To all the AR haters out there, keep in mind that using an AR is an art, especially with extremely fast firing weapons like Silimar's or Atheon's; however, once you can master it, they can be extremely effective!

Man I just ground this game for 5 nights after work (because I suck at pvp) got the shot gun then ground some more to get to level 5, didn't have enough glimmer the by the dam rifle so ground for another hour to get 7000 glimmer so I could buy the gun And now everyone is saying its crappp [spoiler]bring on the next IB, I loved it!!!!!![/spoiler]

I have one... It's a garbAge auto rifle.. Doesn't compare to shadow price or grim citizen.

9 RepliesDude I want that auto so freaking bad. I have to grind like hell this weekend for that sweet rank five. Just hope I can knock out these levels fast enough. That felwinter seems pretty nice too. Just hope I can buy sets of 2 so I can reforge at some point.

It will be the very last weapon of the 30 that I permanently carry on me that I ascend (5 more to go) but I will ascend it just the same... The rate of fire plus extended mag = fun and super effective for low level PVE activities despite the low impact... I have a fully ascended pest control matrix with crowd control, which has the same impact as a Suros, and still find Silimar's wrath 331 more effective sometimes if level is out of the equation...

It could use more range. I get why its impact is so abysmal, seeing how it's a bullet hose. But it really needs some range to compete with similar autos. Yes, you can re-roll, but it needs those recoil-reducing perks. Still ... I like that it was sold with pretty perfect perks already on it.

3 Repliesits good but for me it a situational weapon, if your playing a in your face hitting them flakes fast then this gun is a monster and when you have players dumb enough to straight up rush at you well 0 to 100 real quick. but anything out side of that it sucks, better to run a monta carlo if you want a fast ROF gun

So when I look at the rifle and it has low impact and high RoF, I say it's a junker. I can grab the Galahad-E from an engram or my Atheon's Epilogue to replace it easily. However I'd feel more comfortable with a scout rifle, pistol or even a pulse rifle. A pulse rifle does better... If I actually cared for IB and got to rank 4, I'd of bought the sniper rifle. That thing right there is both a PvP and PvE worthy weapon.
