Go play WoW, and watch all your Mists of Pandaria gear become scrap in the new expansion. Its how it goes. At least they're doing something to keep exotics relevant.

True but in WoW the gear is what it is when you get it. You done have to spend hours and days leveling the gear.
-
Well, you spend that much time simply obtaining the gear though, and truth be told, I prefer the ability to level gear. Not the Light Levels, though. I don't dig that. Even if WoW gear is what it is when you get it (you could upgrade beyind base with gems and other add-ons when I played), that gear is still obsolete come expansion time. That's the rub, here.

Edited by Reichlyn: 12/4/2014 12:06:37 PMThere's truth to that, but Wow does that once per year. They're resetting us in the first 3 months. Huge difference. And there's weapons I still don't have because RnG is ridiculous in this game and they gave all the vendors to the crucible.

You also have the ability to trade, and have access to very large markets of items. Which if you grind and get tons of gold you can just buy your way to the gear you want....
-
Yes, and all that gear you traded and ground gold for is still obsolete come the next expansion.
-
Yeah in wow you replace with new gear already higher lvl not resetting all your progress why do you people keep rendering to wow this game is nothing like wow
-
Because people's arguments boil down to, "I want to keep my old gear relevant." Just like with WoW (or any other game) there's new gear that will start from scratch in Destiny, too. With other games, though, there is zero carry-over for gear, period. At least they're trying to figure out a way for older exotics to not become obsolete.

Yeah but why should we suffer we have spent hours online maxing these guns and armour out only to be told if want to level it more we have to do it right from the start that's not in any way fair to the people who've put hours into the game
-
I hear ya. Its not the perfect solution, but I wonder if it's the only way they could figure out how to do it. Bad Juju finally got a much-needed buff. Players would be ticked off to see that gun become useless within a couple weeks of becoming good. It would be a much bigger time waste if the current exotics became garbage; people would be way more pissed about that. Since that's not happening, though, they're not looking at it as, "Hey, I get to keep that cool gun/armor I busted my ass for," they're looking at it as, "I have to grind the same gear twice." Which is true, but again, old gear staying relevant doesn't happen at all in games like this, and it's better than the alternative.
