Halo 2 map packs were sold in stores.
Map packs have traditionally undersold and split the playerbase late in the game's life cycle, so their price justifies thier existence.
This content is integral to the continuation of the main narrative in a game that has a dirth of content to begin with.
There's no one out there who didn't feel like they get into the next Halo because they didn't drop $10 on a map pack from the last one, but we may see people less likely to purchase Destiny 2 based on the fact they couldn't justify paying $40, the total cost of the next two "expansions" and 2/3 of the initial investment, on a few levels that heavily rely on assets created for the vanilla game.

You may be right, but I'm saying that even if DLC is overpriced in general, this DLC isn't any more expensive than other DLC.

It's way high for a major release, especially cosidering it has no new major environments. The cost for the rest of the solar system is sure to be astronomical...

hahahaha I see what you did there. :) It might be too high for you, but that's how capitalism works. The free market sets the price, and Activisions market analysts have decided that the $20 price point is what will make them the most money. Do I wish it cost less/had more content? Of course. But I'll be buying it because the utility I get from it will be worth the $20. Its an individual value proposition, and for some people its not going to be worth it.
