How can you know that there are no plans of using them, when there are already "spaceholders" on the map for it? When there are already dead Ghosts? When there are also mobs and bosses? They even showed one of the locked off areas in their trailer. Did Bungie say that they won´t use them at all? Can´t remember that. But i remember bungie saying that they just started working on the dlc content when the game released and there were only placeholders, which explains place holders on the world map but not fully fledged out areas with dead ghosts, mobs etc.. So if any of these things gets used in paid dlc bungie straight out lied.

  • I don't know they aren't using them, what I was saying was that we have no indication that they ARE using them. But according to some people here, they are using them. I can't find any information on it, but maybe I'm wrong.

  • When they don´t intend to use them why did they add them in the first place? Of course they will use them, only question is as paid dlc? Which is most likely. Harold Ryan said in an interview: When people get into areas that aren't unlocked right now, they're seeing pieces we built and shipped ahead of time, but they're by no means the finished experiences or even the finished content. So if they planned to release that stuff as free dlc, why not right out say so? It would take down a lot of heat bungie is getting. As long as bungie doesn´t go out and say hey the stuff thats on the disc, the areas that are locked off now will get fully accessible for every user for free, as soon as we finish them, it will come up again and again. And if anything of that content gets in paid dlc, well you can imagine the meltdown that will happen.

  • There is a fear that they were scrapped because of limitations or storyline issues and that they may eventually be deleted. They don't need to release a 'free DLC" they just need a patch and make a temporary event. Just like how everyone thought the Queen's Bounty was going to be like.

  • I´m not talking about stuff from over a year ago, the game clearly went through development hell, im talking about stuff that is actually on disc but not accessible. Stuff they showed off in trailers this summer that are on the disc, that are part of the gameworld but locked away, with doors, invisible walls etc.. So three possibilites: First they add these areas when they are finished for free, if so why don´t say so when they are already talking about these areas? Second is that they add it as paid dlc´s so basically you have to pay additionally to legit access all the data that is present on your copy of the game. Third they won´t use them at all, which is not very likely.
