I'd rather spend extra time for someone to learn than not be able to play the raid at all or have to spend an hour on forums finding people. Not to mention the fact that when I did the raid this weekend using the current system, the random that we invited took a good half hour to get through the jumping puzzle. What's the difference between forum randoms and matchmaking randoms? In fact, with matchmaking, having someone quit wouldn't be the end of the raid like it sends to end up now. Another person could be dropped in. Don't like the guy that's having trouble? Quit. Matchmaking will replace you.

That just makes it harder for people that don't have groups they play with on a regular basis

I think you're saying that not having matchmaking only makes it harder for people without established raid groups, so that's what I'll respond to. Exactly. Saying someone without a steady raid group should be screwed isn't right. I have 2 Xbox live friends who play Destiny that I know in real life. I have about 6 or 8 that I met in... Wait for it... Matchmaking or in the tower, which is basically social matchmaking. But we all have lives and schedules. My best friend lives in Japan. Makes it hard to set up a group with other, more local friends. Not everyone has that many friends who play on the same console. If you have a group, how did you meet? On a forum or in game? Not to mention, if you already have a group, how does the inclusion of matchmaking hurt you in any way?

I will and have taken first timers into the vault and had a hoot they where given roles and did well but now when we get to the last boss how can I give rolls out to the new guys if it's random teleport

Plan ahead. Put in an order of operations or hierarchy. If P1 gets teleported, they always take the relic. If not but P2 is there, they take it. If not P2,then P3.if not P3, then P4. This would require 4 people to be able to use the relic at max throughout the whole thing. The other jobs? Sort the oracles as they appear or stand on this and defend. Not to mention if you have the time, it would be worth teaching the first timers how to use the relic anyway. I understand time can be an issue, but I point at my original post. If everyone can do everything(barring first timers) it really doesn't matter who does what other than preference

I see what your saying but when u have 5 other people waiting for hours for one guy to get the hang of it people will be nasty and it will bring a mentality of he's crap get rid of him

I see your point there too. Maybe a vote to boot? Usually the people that really suck end up quitting on their own anyway. I'm not going to say I have all the answers, but I do think it could be made to work. At the very least, there's no harm in discussing. Also, I want to say thanks to you for taking new raiders through. Not many people will it seems. Everyone has a first time and it's always good to see someone willing to help.
