Ok so everyone feels this way, what's the point of a weapon being "exotic" if they're sold every other weekend by this tool of the nine? The very meaning of exotic is, and I quote "of a kind not used for ordinary purposes or not ordinarily encountered." NOT ORDINARILY ENCOUNTERED!!! They aren't "exotic if everyone encounters them! So here is my suggestion. With every public event, have a new exotic weapon and armor piece. There is a limited amount of time to earn enough reputation with that specific event, to earn yourself a true exotic item. Once the event is over, that's it! It's over, now everyone who toiled and ground out that event to get the exotic, truly has something to be envied. Something that few have earned, and nobody ever will again. THAT IS EXOTIC, THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.
Which brings me to my closing topic. Now everyone on the Destiny team is thinking. Well the people who don't have much time to play are shit out of luck. If it were me I'd say, "yea, to bad." However it's not me, and if you think everyone who badly plays will be sore about it. Implement a "pokemon" style trading system within the tower. This way people can have the oppritunity to trade for an exotic they missed out on. END RANT: EAT MY SHORTS XÜR

12 RepliesHave to agree with the OP How is it an 'exotic' when every Tom, Dick and Harry has it?? Imagine the Mona Lisa..... if every household had one then it wouldn't be rare/valuable at all and wouldn't be considered a [b]'rare'[/b] piece (exchange rare for exotic) For these pieces of armour to be considered exotic and feel exotic it needs to be hard to come by..... regardless of people's play time..... that may even give those with little time more reason to play Destiny as I'm sure they finished it in about 8hours anyway.

10 RepliesThe people who don't care how their character looks compared to other characters, and don't see exotics as status symbols in the game need to move along and go back to Call of Duty or Halo. This game is supposed to give the gamers the opportunity for unlimited personalization, every guardian should be different. At least that's what they were boasting about before the release. They wanted this to be an MMO, but are treating it like just another run of the mill FPS. Seriously if all your concerned about is the stats, go play COD or HALO. To those of you who actually want something new in a FPS like and share away, maybe the guys at bungie will hear about our strife.

So you don't want people having the same gun as you because that gun makes you feel unique and powerful. But if everyone else has the gun than you fell less powerful and realize how bad you really are with out an over powered weapon.

First off, their is no "earning" anything with RNG in place when it comes to drops. The only earning concept in the game is getting strange coins for weekly strikes. That being a fact you didn't earn your exotic, you got lucky. I earned my coins and bought something with them...get over it.

On top on this I've gotten 4 uni remotes and 3 hard lights, when xur finally has that hand cannon I will rejoice, because then my wait (and everyone else that's been waiting for one) will be over. Meh I've had 9 of my exotics sold at xur and never really cared, I'd rather people have better guns/armour so I'm not the only 1 killing things in the raid/weekly/nightfalls. As for looking the same...really? Every mmo is this way, goto any mmo and all the "end game" or top tier armour is all the same and once you get to that lvl you will all look the same. It happens in every mmo ever.

3 RepliesYour right, man! Whole heartedly agree. Exo's are supposed to be special but they are NOT! No reason to do anything in this game but collect the incredibly common strange coins and just buy the end-game items every week. Why even bother trying to get items on legit time spent grinding? No point, Xur is selling your incredibly sought after item this week-end! Bordom happens fast when you have nothing to work for. Ten years? Ha! More like 2 weeks with Xur around.
