It sounds like you want to change weapons because they are not realistic? In a future sci-fi video game? Hmm.. Then they would have to bump the damage back up atleast.. I'm really not sure what this post is, since you say it's not whining.. Why do you want this change?

No, because they're not balanced. I don't give a damn about realism. Every weapon should have its own niche. Victory should be about choosing the correct weapons for the situation.
