How was your first night in the Iron Banner?

Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?

I think the level differential curve is at a good place now. I'd like to see more information in the game that helps players understand how this works and what degree of penalty they can expect. Other than that, Iron Banner still suffers from the problems that affect Control and, to a greater extent, Crucible as a whole. I still think PvP in this game needs a lot of work to make it balanced, fair, and fun. Much of the time, it [i]is[/i] fun...except when it isn't, and those times are due to the oversights in the overall sandbox design that range from weapon balance and class balance to map design to ammo distribution and specific item traits that are open to exploit.

Playing on 360 and the lag this week is terrible. Idk if it's lag switching douche bags or the servers but it says my connection is fine along with my fire team but after the game starts, if there's anyone with red bar connection, we get screwed over. Usually we average about 60%-40% win/lose but this week is been 95% lose. Im not claiming to be so good at the game that it has to be bs, but i know we dont suck that bad to suddenly lose every game with lag plaguing us every game.

Solo its been rough group its been great. But Iron Banner has not real show of power actually got wrecked by people using white weapons. See no big difference between from normal crucible to Iron Banner.

Iron Banner is always my favourite event despite lag issues in the UK leaving us unable to damage overseas players.However,the rewards make the effort worthwhile.

I don't think the issue is people leaving when they know they aren't going to win. I will stick a loss out for the medallion and so will pretty much everyone I play with. What makes me leave a game is when I join a game in progress and the score is ~10000 to ~1200 because I'm now the second person on my team and the other team is a pre made party of 6. I've been on both ends of this. Its even less fun being the only person not to quit and now you're being hunted by a six man team than it is to join the hunted man's team and be down 10000 points and now you have to face off against six fully charged supers and 2 boxes of heavy ammo. There should be some sort of mercy rule where if there's less than 50% strength on a given team its just an automatic win/loss.

I did quite well in Iron banner , and I found obtaining many wins not overly difficult.Most games I was first/second on my team, and completing the bounties were not overly difficult either. I noticed the level difference especially when fighting players that were usually level 31-33 when using weapons like my Jolder's Hammer and Thorn for example.I also observed how a player who stuck me with a magnetic grenade as a level 33 Titan didn't kill me until the second blast and just barely.With flame shield I would have lived that time instead. I noticed plenty of Thorns, which doesn't really bother me that much since I win a lot of Thorn fights using my own,but it bothers me to see so many players wanting a nerf to Thorn.I think there just needs to be other weapons just as good or nearly as good so that there's other guns used rather than such a large percentage of guardians using a small group of weapons.Now I probably died from machine guns , and other weapons like The Messenger and The Last Word the most of any guns in this Iron Banner this time around.

So I realize there are 6000+ comments on here. Just came by to say that I really like this new lower curve. Prior to this I was having trouble using hawk moon. Not sure why but I just couldn't get kills. Now when I go into IB as a 34 with 365 HM I am absolutely killing everything. Thanks Bungie! Getting closer to COD Hardcore mode every dlc... Now Trials...yeah. Haven't beaten that yet. But that's not your fault. Well kinda, but not really.

Edited by Ewing: 6/5/2015 9:54:33 PMFirst night logged on late since Summer is in full force. Ran in a group of six as a 33. Played just long enough to hit Rank 1, stayed on longer than intended. I found some 34s difficult, some impossible, never easy. Had a few 32s school me. Last night I pried open my vault and used a NF Etheric Light to reach 34. Things going a bit smoother now. I still get my butt easily kicked by some 33s with a piece of IB armor. Edit: IMO 365 weapons matter. It is no coincidence that exotic primaries only needing an exotic shard are doing so well.

These rumors/facts of Xur's loot table is void of Gjallarhorn is just pathetic. I personally dont care about it anymore; I found hawkmoon im happy. Just dont go saying you deleted yours for everyone's sake. You dont have to sit for hours grinding for it since you can get it generated to your account. that display was bullshit. in anycase thats my IronBanner experience getting Gjallarhorned over and over cant even outrun the homing outburst. it's crap.

Thorn fest lag lag lag. Can barely tell any lgutb difference or weapon difference. Level 32 with same weapon hurts as much as someone with a 34. And did I mention the thorn fest and lag lag lag?

I don't really notice the power level advantages. Switching from 33 to 34 to use different gear doesn't really seem to make a difference. We also have a lv 27 that runs with us (all lv 34s) and he does just fine. I will say that the rep buff across characters is noticeable and appreciated, and I haven't had to go grind glimmer on Mars yet. So thats nice.
