I wish they wouldn't shove PvE down my throat. Why can't this game be more like Call of Duty?

Because PVP is still an attachment to a single player/co-op experience. If you want "multiplayer only" just play something purpose-built like Titanfall or Counterstrike. Don't ask Bungie to accommodate a niche which detracts from the mechanical design of Destiny.

PvP is not an attachment to the single player experience of Destiny. The Destiny experience is a conglomeration of different styles of play.
