75% of legendary gear is not gated by PVP. Do not state something that is clearly incorrect and is an untrue statistic being used to emphasize the point you are trying to make. How can you say that this game is biased towards PvP? I am a heavy PvP player, it's what I know and what I'm good at. However at the bare minimum half of my gear has come from the PvE realm. To say this game caters to the PvP is complete nonsense. If I'm not mistaken PvE has six bounties a day just like PvP does. The queen bounties have 3 PvP and 3 PvE last I checked. PvE has Nightfall strikes which gives you a guaranteed exotic, legendary, set of ascendant shards/energies. PvE has weekly strikes that reward you with up to 9 strange coins that can be used with Xur to buy Exotics. PvE has Raids which gives you the chance at some great gear. Then with the great abundance of engrams that you get from PvE you can keep leveling the Cryptarch with potential chances to unlock exotics/legendaries. Now then, we come to the exotic bounties. I see nothing wrong with how they are currently set up. They are their on unique types of bounties and should have requirements from both aspects of the game. If anything the exotic bounties have more PvE in them than they do PvP. The three exotice bounties I have completed have had ONE PvP requirement (which are not really that difficult when you think about it, 500 points of void damage probably being the toughest one). These are top items in the game and should be difficult and challenging to achieve. If you want The problem I have with Strictly PvE people is they don't like to compete, they simply want to take the easy road and mind numbingly shoot AI for hours knowing eventually they will get great gear after eventually playing enough to exploit bosses or establish patterns that will take away any challenge presented. In my opinion this is what makes you people bad in the PvP world because you are not used to fighting against another human that thinks, strategizes and where unknown variables occur. As a result you attack Bungie for trying to get you people out of your comfort zone and step up to a challenge. Being a PvP player, I don't like all the PvE stuff I have to do to get the things I want but I suck it up and do it anyways without complaining. We are all going to come across aspects of the game we aren't particularly fond of. Bungie simply can not Cater to any one single persons or groups needs due to the quantity of people who play this game. I am all for your suggestions for dual bounty requirements and opening the vendors to both currencies. I feel that would add to the value of the game for everyone. I just hate the fact that a majority of you bash Bungie with a lot of BS statistics and "facts" when they are untrue. I ultimately feel Bungie has made a very good and balanced game with challenging elements to it. Most of all the whining needs to come to an end and you sometimes have to nut up and do things you don't want to do in life.

  • I do not voice much on forums, with that said I have to agree and add send kudos to the above post! Cheers! I am a PvE player and have no complaints with the PvP aspects of Destiny, all of my gear comes from PvE and currently I am sitting at 2 exotic weapons, 6 Legendary armor pieces all of which have been gathered in PvE. The bounties for PvP have a nice mix of skill and grind to them wich allows me (with lower PvP skill) to earn my faction. Kudos Bungie on a great game, now can you help with my GF she thinks I am playing too much! LOL

  • How are the Legendaries not gated behind PvP? Aside from random drops you get from enemies or in the Crucible, 5 out of 7 vendors that you can buy Legendary Equipment from require you to make the purchase with Crucible Marks. How the hell is that fair?

4 of the 6 exotic weapon bounties, 66%, require pvp to complete. as stated by Vampire nox 5 of 7 ,71%, of vendors require pvp to purchase their gear. not quite 75% but defiantly geared more for pvper's then pveer's in that regard. while I agree the exotic gear should be challenging to complete; it should offer a fun challenge for the player. to your point about pveer's being lazy and not liking to compete (paraphrasing, but I think that's what your implying) I have to disagree. when we find a sweet spot that makes it where we can take the boss down with relatively little damage to our selves, that shows a level of creativity and forces the programmers to up the difficulty and come up with more creative ways to challenge a player/party. in doing so it makes the players find alternative ways to take the boss down. on a side note pveer's love to compete too, look at the raid challenge if you doubt (11 hours to complete and be the first team to do so; congrats InvigorateINV for first on hard).I could easily counter argue with you and say pvp'ers are the uncreative lot. most of the time when I play pvp, I encounter roughly half of players camping a well travelled spot so as to maximize the K/D score (not very creative). I am glad that you enjoy the game but if your going to disagree with others at least take the time to make an accurate argument and actually include the facts/statistics. it will make for a better debate and ultimately if Bungie is as good as I hope they are they will listen and improve this awesome game even more. yours, Gnarley potato, PvE extraordinaire

  • You would be correct on those percentages. However if you read the whole comment in its entirety I stated in the bottom that I agreed with suggested solutions of the post by Vishimtar where they should open all vendors to all currency because it would benefit all players across the game. You will also note that the post by Vishimtar clearly says 75% of ALL legendary gear is locked behind crucible not just exotic bountys and vendors, which again as my argument stated is no where near that number. Your argument is valid about competing. Being first to beat the Raid is one good example you give of competitive PvE. The human on human interaction that PvE people really don't care for is what I was really getting at. I also understand the point you make with people camping in PvP (believe me I know) but that is a small part of what makes PvP so challenging and fun. You don't know where enemies will be at all times, you don't know what weapons or abilities they may have, you don't know what skill level you are going against. There are just so many unkown variables that makes it so much more challenging than what PvE can ever accomplish. I don't see how you can say PvE presents a lasting challenge?? The first time you play through a mission it is a big challenge, the second time a little bit less but when you start getting to the third and beyond you know whats going to happen. You know the enemies that are going to be in certain areas, you know what type of abilities and weapons they have, you know the movements and where they will go. It simply becomes a matter of time before you figure out what works and doesn't and you inevitably beat it. The raid is a perfect example of this. It took the first team 11 hours which must have been a blast and kudos to them but now I see videos of people doing it in under 40 minutes.... Anyways back to the main argument, 75% of ALL legendary items are NOT locked behind the crucible. As I stated before you have nightfall which rewards a for sure exotic, legendary, shards/energy. You have weekly strikes for 9 strange coins to buy exotic gear from Xur. You have the Raid. You find many more engrams in PvE than you ever could in PvP, which although slim gives you the chance at great gear and more leveling for the Cryptarch. I spend a majority of my time in the crucible yet at a Minimum half my legendary/exotic gear has come from PvE. The exotic bounties are fair, they have elements of PvE and they have elements of PvP they do not need to change this. I don't see how people can bash the game for being "imbalanced" when it is the complete opposite and is in fact very balanced. Vishimtar suggested opening all vendors to both currencies which I fully agree would better the game as a whole. Other than opening the vendors to vanguard marks the game is very balanced. Im not saying this game is perfect by any means, no game is upon release but it is quite balanced, has good mechanics, great concepts and above all has been a blast to play.

  • Well thought out and delivered points. The only argument from here is that even if you have played the same raid, strike, etc. it can still be challenging. Anytime you add someone new to the mix it often leads to unexpected situations both fun and challenging. The reason I deviated from the OP's post is because I wanted a more thoughtful discussion than: Your wrong I'm right so if you don't like it don't play.

  • You do realize that you can trade in Helium/spit bloom/ ect, for Crucible marks to buy gear from other vendors that require it.

  • Or should we just "be OK with" skipping the three factions and their content? How is having those factions gear not also being available to purchase with Vanguard Marks in any way fair?

  • Note at the bottom of my comment I said it would benefit the game to open all vendors to both types of currency.... but for right now we just have to make due with what we have and hope Bungie makes the fix down the road. Also CW Vikings does have a solution for the time being. If strict PvE players are dead set against going into the Crucible you can always farm those materials to exchange them for Crucible marks (very inefficient but it is a solution).
