I agree with you on the subject of the Queen's bounties. We already know there are going to be Iron Banner bounties, as there were in the beta. Why does the Queen have to give those as well? In fact, it makes no sense for her to be interested in the Crucible at all, considered according to the lore it's more of a training arena for Guardians than anything. Shax treats it like an arena, but it's meant to test Guardians in battle. Why would the Queen of the Reef, who cares so little about the Tower, the Traveler, or anything else on Earth... care about being represented in a training arena? Bah, who am I kidding? We're talking about the same people who thought it would be a good idea to have her give you missions to kill things that are already dead before you ever even meet her. "Old scores" indeed...

  • I have to agree on much of what you said. I don't think that inclusion of PVP when doing the exotic weapons bounties is that bad of a thing. Exotics are obtainable several ways so having the quest take you through multiple gaming components is fine in my opinion. What has bothered me since the start has been the faction gear being PVP only. In the context of the game story, the crucible is supposed to be guardians competing against each other in order to make them more effective at combating the enemy. Based on that idea the city factions only care about how much you practice, not if you have been of any use in the "real war". They could fix this by making it so you could buy faction gear with vanguard points. You would gain reputation with them by doing bounties and patrol missions with their class specific item equipped just like it works in PVP. Maybe toss strikes in too, who knows. I understand that given their history with Halo the multiplayer side (PVP) was the thing that they built up and ran with over the long life of each title. That perspective lead them down the PVP focused path for this game. Sure, easy to understand but it seems that they forget that not everyone wants to focus on PVP when playing the game. There are those who might occasionally enjoy PVP but don't want it to be the standard mode of play and then there are those who care nothing for PVP at all. I like Destiny. I find it to be fun to play and feel that it has a great deal of potential. The only two disappointments that I have had with the game so far are that everything seems to want to funnel you into PVP and the lack of story/world building. Balance between gaming modes and giving the "world" a bit more purpose/story would fix all of that for me. They should probably take a look at some MMOs to get an idea of how to spread story out and fill in the world. Hell WoW doesn't do a very good job with story in the MMO world but it is still there. Anyway, yes the heavy PVP focus in Destiny can be a bit annoying.
