Same problem, only my situation is a tad different from you guys after reading your little conversation. I was enjoying playing destiny and made it to the first moon mission before I received the "problem reading game content...". Restarted the playstation and it kept getting stuck on 17% at verifying content. I own a playstation slim (120gb?), so it's most likely not your play stations causing the problem. The other thing is that I downloaded it from the playstation store rather than buying a hard copy, so It might not be the disk either. I'm currently re-downloading now to see if that works for me.
