I think we can all agree that it won't be Halo, but obviously we spend time looking into the game and gobbling up every bit of info, and many people don't. So how would you describe it to the uninitiated? put it in terms of games they know so the description becomes Halo meets borderlands...
Since there is no frame of reference for a comparable game in genre, that's what we're stuck with (no FPS MMO has been able to pull it off and succeed yet)
But what we can hope for is that the game captures lightning in a bottle just like Halo's gameplay did

Why over complicate things? just give me an open world sci-fi environment, traverse different planetary systems, start me off with basic equipment where I can lvl up with use and can customize with whatever I can find laying around or can purchase after completing tasks. Simple..

Edited by Spinalrocket3: 6/4/2014 11:15:11 PMI would say Destiny is a game where you play as a hero fighting aliens in a post apocalyptic world. It's really cool because you get to freely explore the solar system. It's science fiction like Halo and open world like Skyrim, with Borderlands 2 as the crazy uncle.

Well you don't get to freely roam the solar system. You can only really free roam when your on a patrol or out for a mission. And even then, we don't know to what extent. it'll be less free than skyrim, although itll be much larger.

Random idea… I think a specific gun no matter what your lvl is should always be the same strength. I.E. the thunder lord was shown as a lvl200, well if I'm so lucky to find a thunder lord in game it should also be lvl200 regardless of what lvl i am and i should be able to equip it. I say this 1. because i hated it in borderlands how i would find a gun and it was the same gun as the one i had just 2 damage weaker. 2. because, although Diablo was amazing, i didn't like how i could have legendary armor at lvl 10 that looked just like a badass lvl 60 player. it kind of defeated the purpose of looking like a badass… I realize in game trading would allow players to use this to their advantage, however i like how the gun skill progression will work in this game and i think it will defeat the purose of that if i find the same gun over and over again just with a little stronger stats…. Unless…. they allow you to break down your current version and use those pieces to convert the new one to the same progression slot…IDK over analyzation but i really hope bungie has figured everything out.
