Listen, I love Halo. Master Chief is probably my favorite video game character. I love Halo's story. But it really annoys me when people compare Destiny to Halo. Yes, Destiny is a futuristic FPS, but destiny is an open world online game. My friends still say it'll be just like halo, but personally I think it will be a futuristic open world, MMO type game. I have faith Destiny will be a new, original, fun experience, with nostalgia as well. Destiny will be a new and innovative game but with a somewhat familiar feel. Tell me in the comments if you've had similar experiences with friends saying Destiny is like Halo, or if you disagree with me. Thanks Guardians!

I can relate to you 100% it is really annoying when people do that

Let them be! They an idiot ! They should know that destiny is from creator of Halo

Its an rpg halo is arcade theres a few simularities at most its more like borderlands/diablo than halo, if anything i think its the immature people tring to convince them into turning it into a halo clone but guess what bungie want to make more than just halo so tough we get a new game thats better than halo in many players opinions.

Its not like any other game... But it is like another movie... Lets be honest destiny is like what a gaurdians of the galaxy game would be

I think the Destiny PvP is the perfect pace. Bungie somehow nailed that line between gunplay and movement all over again, but better. That being said, the PvE is F*CKING AMAZING and i can't wait to spend the next ten years of my life giving up my dream of being an astronaut and instead exploring our universe through the eyes of my Hunter.
I never wanted to be an astronaut, I just said that to look cool ene
Idk if I'd say mmo but yes it's different.

It is a Bungie game, so you can't rag on them too much. But, after playing the beta... it felt so different. I was so absorbed in playing it. It was familiar yet different. It was dare I say... fabulous? Lol. But once all those people actually play it, they'll see too.

Destiny plays like the perfect sci-fi game and has the right amount of mystery to it. You can't says it's like other FPS's unless you actually play because when you play it just feels right.

3 RepliesI think it's like.. If Star Wars and Borderlands had a baby, and Halo and Mass Effect had a baby. And somehow those two babies met.. And had a baby. That would be Destiny. Destiny is the product of baby bumping.

3 RepliesOne of my brother's friends said he wasn't gonna buy it because "it's basically going to be just like borderlands" i was already halfway out of my seat to slap some sens into him when he started his sentence. You have to treat destiny like it is its own game. Not some copy of another game. We need to stop looking at what's bad about it and look at the numerous things that are good about it.
-
I'll do this from time to time but only because I don't know what to compare it to, and the game it made b the same company.
-
You mean a massively successful, genre defining franchise worth hundreds of millions of dollars? Yeah why would I want Destiny to be anything like that?
-
The gameplay has a halo kind of feel to it like how fast you are, the weapons, and just when you look around you can feel the difference between playing halo and another shooter, or maybe that's just my opinion

4 RepliesIt feels like what brink could've been. Lol that game was just baaaad.
-
1 ReplyDestiny and Halo are practically the same game. Seriously the only difference is ADS vs hip fire.
-
18 RepliesIts not annoying because its going to be halo+borderlands
-
Also, isn't Destiny like, 200 years farther than Halo? Or less? And Space Magic....all you gotta say.
-
2 RepliesI'm a halo baby so what ever bungie makes I will buy. Only halo baby's would understand destiny .not people who just got into halo . Halo baby for life. Shrek is love I say, Shrek is life. Its never ogre 😍

1 ReplyDestiny and Halo are literally the same. Its not a question its a fact. Weather that is good or not is up to each of us.

10 RepliesEdited by Dieharderxx: 8/30/2014 3:39:19 AMFunny. The whole time I played beta, anyone coming into my house asked me if I was playing Halo. Wonder why that is? Unfortunately Destiny is showing that is going to be for an elite 10% of the gaming population as the raid is what the game is geared for after the story ends. With lots and lots of repetitive gameplay in the same 15 strike missions. Exploring is monotonous. Just an open world where you shoot everything standing around. Doesn't matter where you explore, that is all you will do. The game for most of the players will end after they reached level 20 and finish the story. Then they have a long wait for expansions. (Edit as of 8/29 - With the most recent information being provided, if people don't mind grinding for loot, they will have plenty to do to get it. If you don't like to grind, then the game may still be over at 20 level if you don't like the daily story missions. Weekly Vanguard missions sound like they might provide a test of what the raids are like. Daily Vanguard mssion not sure how repetitive they will be. Looks like expansions come out in March and December.) After reading the latest update, the raids, particularly on hard mode won't be for most of the population. I also pre-ordered hoping Vanguard missions will be a challenge and non repetitive.)

I've been playing halo as a substitute for destiny, it's the closest thing I have found, but it's entirely different. Here's a list of differences. 1: destiny has open world exploration 2: destiny takes place on planets that all we can look at in the sky 3: entirely different story lines 4: destiny has a third heavy weapon slot 5: destiny has classes 6: supercharges in destiny 7: class based armor/grenades That's as deep as I want to go, the rest I could think of are minuscule differences or fall under one of these seven. Let me know any others you could think of

9 RepliesIt has guns. End of story. Seriously though..... Rooster Teeth + Destiny= Awesome. The return of Caboose.
-
destiny is has a similar play style but thats the way bungie makes games but it is very different over all
-
Nothing wrong with it being like halo or borderlands, both of those games were great. It would only be bad if it tried to copy them instead of trying to add more to the genre
-
1 ReplyMy comparison is it's like skyrim but in the future and I mean that in a good way
-
It may look like Halo's spiritual successor since it looks like it uses the same game engine, but the game is going to be more like a MMO version of Borderlands than anything.
