I disagree with their thinking

SO Here I was cruising through my fb when I saw a girl making some feminist status about her beliefs and stuff. I myself am cautiously supportive of feminism- I'm 100% for female equal rights/opertunity, but sometimes I get turned off from the group as a whole by the radical feminazis who highjack the whole thing. I was gonna comment something generally supportive like "power to ya," that is, until I saw this page: http://i-once-had-a-guy-tell-me.tumblr.com/page/2 There are some tragic stories on here where women came out about their being -blam!-. But, far more numerous than those stories, were those stories from the many females who feel sexually violated or parts of everyday life. Worse, you can see that most females actually agree with these ridiculous perspectives when you see how many times it got noted. Some of these things aren't even sexist at all, but are construed as '-blam!- culture' Some of the best ones: [quote] "I once had a co-worker who made jokes like “There are three things a woman should see: the kitchen sink, the bedroom ceiling, and the back of my hand” and would call tampons “Lady Cigars.” I was so glad when he resigned, but I gotta say, he left a lasting impression" (can't handle jokes? I get made fun of all the time by peers and friends and dish it too. Part of life) "I will always be a feminist until I feel safe walking alone on the alley at night" (uhh... That's not safe male or female) "I once had a guy (friend from college) open a door for me (ofc I said thank you) and mention something about chivalry and acted puffed-out and proud, he felt entitled to reward for such a noble act. I said “Ah, well done, you, a human being, did a decent thing for another human being who happens to have breasts/a vagina. Imagine that. Am I to fall at your feet now? What are your rates for opening doors? Handjob? Nudes? ” He looked stunned, and said “I never thought of it that way…I’m so sorry”" (What the -blam!- kind of reaction is that?) "I once had a guy tell me to become a christian after i told him i was an atheist. The words he used were “that needs to change”" (what a sexist asshole) "I once had a guy (my father) tell me that a man would never be attracted to me because my skin is always raw and red from scratching myself all the time (something i do out of stress), he then proceeded to hit my raw, red chest with the spatula he was holding and it stung like hell. I am trying to stop my stress scratching not for him, not so men will be attracted to me, but for my own personal health." (How douchy of your dad to give you advice smfh) "I once had a guy (my dad) tell me that I should marry a rich man because I want to be an artist. He said it kinda jokingly but it still hurt." Most interestingly of all: "as a male following this blog, it is very depressing finding out how common sexual abuse, misogny, -blam!- culture etc is... Is there anything that can be done? Besides controlling how I act towards women of course...." [/quote] I'm an egalitarian, and usually pro feminist, but it annoys me how most feminists always think like this (and don't pretend they don't. Yes mother-blam!-er they do.)

  • Both sexes gets equal rights. Feminism is OK as long as females don't get more rights and only partake in feminism because they were rightfully wronged in a sexist manner. Feminism because they just want power is -blam!-ing messed up. But if a man does more work in an unofficial job (not under a company, just for a little service.. like.. a farmer needs help / chores...) and the woman doesn't do shit, she may be paid less.. And situations alike.. Vise versa, man might be paid less because of whatever right reasons. Most likely not the case though.. Difference between Feminists and Feminazis though.

Equalism > feminism I support equal rights for both sexes. But nowadays it seems like feminism is getting more and more associated with bs like [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2KPeMcYsuc]this[/url]. [quote][i]"Feminism is the idea that we can make both sexes equal by focusing solely on the issues of one of them."[/i][/quote]

I see it differently, I reject your reality and substitute my own! [quote] "I once had a co-worker who made jokes like “There are three things a woman should see: the kitchen sink, the bedroom ceiling, and the back of my hand” and would call tampons “Lady Cigars.” I was so glad when he resigned, but I gotta say, he left a lasting impression" ([b]Blatant sexism. Some people can handle jokes, some can't. That's a different topic.[/b]) "I will always be a feminist until I feel safe walking alone on the alley at night" ([b]Interesting conclusion.[/b]) "I once had a guy (friend from college) open a door for me (ofc I said thank you) and mention something about chivalry and acted puffed-out and proud, he felt entitled to reward for such a noble act. I said “Ah, well done, you, a human being, did a decent thing for another human being who happens to have breasts/a vagina. Imagine that. Am I to fall at your feet now? What are your rates for opening doors? Handjob? Nudes? ” He looked stunned, and said “I never thought of it that way…I’m so sorry”" ([b]She's angry because she got treated as some form of rewarding object. The guy seemed to be trying to show off with the "chivalry" comment. You know, I don't think women deserve special treatment. If you don't either, [i]support feminism, because it aims to get rid of these stereotypes/stupid traditions.[/i] [/b]) "I once had a guy tell me to become a christian after i told him i was an atheist. The words he used were “that needs to change”" ([b]Irrelevant[/b]) "I once had a guy (my father) tell me that a man would never be attracted to me because my skin is always raw and red from scratching myself all the time (something i do out of stress), he then proceeded to hit my raw, red chest with the spatula he was holding and it stung like hell. I am trying to stop my stress scratching not for him, not so men will be attracted to me, but for my own personal health." ([b]I'm not sure what to say here. It's too weird from both sides/angles[/b]) [/quote] All this seems to be is an incoherent blog post. It isn't radical in any major form, at least from this sample. It's also hardly representative of feminists, fyi.

      • [quote]My best (gay) male friend ( whom I love more than words, look up to and simply adore ) once told me that my belly fat was hanging over the seat-belt in his car. I cried instantaneously knowing that my body was not even safe from HIS criticism, and was not ‘enough’ in his eyes.[/quote] Tags: fat shaming, body policing, body shaming, sexism, feminism, misogyny. Again, this isn't any of these things. Not only did he only point it out, but if you're fat enough that it's hanging over the seat belt, and get upset about it pointed out, then do something about it. Also I saw this comment, "gay men can definitely be misogynistic. do not give them a -blam!-ing inch. gay straight trans* even they -blam!-ing have a male privilege and know it - i’m sorry this happened to you - you think you can trust certain men, but often they -blam!- up" I'm sorry what? Reading through this blog, while yes alot of the things on there are awful things, some of them are simply cases of people being dicks, or not at all, and that being confused with sexism. This one is the worst for that.

        • There Are a lot of radical feminists the tote the whole -blam!- culture thing. They actually perpetuate -blam!- culture and sexism with their radical and equally sexist views and angry thinking, with little or no rationality behind their statements other than torch carrying, drum-beating she warriors that will beat down a man verbally until his logic enters a coma from the lack of reasonable argument and highly irrelevant, ignorant and biased thinking.

        • Okay, I've seen two things what are beginning to make me wonder what some women know what raype is. [quote]I once had a guy approach me at a gas station and physically block my access to my car just so he could ask me if I had a boyfriend.[/quote]" Tags: Sexual harrassment, raype culture. What the guy did was a dick move, possibly even illegal, but even then it is completely irrelevant to sexual harrasment or raype. [quote]I once had my boyfriend tell our friend I would pay him back with a blow job (instead of money like I said I would) for merchandise from a concert.[/quote] Tags: Sexism, raype culture, sexual harrassment. Again, how is this any of the three? Guys like blowjobs, in relationship girls often give them? I saw the comments saying about "Forced sexal blah blah blah" how in the hell is this forced?
