Wouldn't it be nice to have a place in Destiny that you could call home? A place where you could rest and keep all your valuables safe when you are out traveling.
When buying a house in Destiny, you would choose from a few different styles of houses and start off with the simplest state of the house and expand from there. You could upgrade your home's security system to help prevent intruders who are trying to break in to try and steal your valuables. You could also expand the size of your house to give you extra space for items and extra/larger rooms.
These are a few things that have come to my mind. What are your thoughts on the idea of owning a house in Destiny?

your spaceship is your home, simple as that the question is what type of docking stations will be available
-
Your ship is your house. Why? Because it's kept in a hangar that doesn't really take up permanent world space. In this shared world shooter, how would you buy a house? If millions and millions of players bought a house, where would all these houses go? If I share my world with someone who put their house exactly where my house is, how would that work? This is exactly why we won't have houses, or real estate we can own. The guardians have a huge tower, that is our 'home'. If we go into the hangar, we will see our ship, and maybe the people in our party's ships.

Edited by JamesButlin: 4/20/2013 10:52:58 AMThis is not an RPG. I say no to houses because I don't want to play the sims/skyrim.
-
I'd rather have my ship be my "house."
-
This is a FPS game still, this is not a mmorpg game...
-
I'd rather go with my idea of a customisable hangar to display all your wargear, etc.
-
If they make your spaceship your home, like in KOTOR and Mass Effect, then I'll be very happy.
-
I like the idea of having a mobile home (tent or armored convoy) for supplies or what not, but having a permanent home on let's say Mars or Venus or what have you would be sweet. Maybe invite a few strangers into your house for a few drinks and swap war stories.
-
From the looks of the concept art you're going to be sleeping on a roof under the stars or in a alleyway. I like the idea of a tent and camping but really I'm not sure if sleeping will be needed for your character in Destiny like it is in Skyrim.
-
There's no need for it though. A house would serve as a hub, the position of which has is apparently being taken by the Tower.

Spaceshiphouse
-
I like the concept of being able to sleep in multiple places
-
I'm thinking you'll sleep on your journey from and to your mission location. Sooo, pretty much your spaceship being your home. (probably not possible because it's an online server which would mean sleeping would actually mean you'd have to like log off and wait for your character to get there, which would be annoying)
-
i will get a mansion and have mini guns
-
Wheres the option for: No,i have a spaceship.
-
Flying house
-
I'd prefer an apartment in The Last City.

Edited by S1N1K1LL: 4/18/2013 2:41:50 AMIt can be cool but a pain.In Skyrim, they gave you a ton of choices as far as where you could call home and place all your loot.In the end it became a burden having to travel back to your house every time you hit your weight limit on loot.I did see on youtube ,a guy/girl made a mod for Skyrim that allowed you to carry around this little artifact like orb and when you dropped it from your inventory and left the menu a slight animation occured around this floating orb and a Dwarven style tower/house appeared. A pocket home of sorts.

its not really an rpg lol....I would be fine with making camps and such (tents and fires and stuff) but idk about having a house on some planet. Our ship is home =)
-
that's what the ship is for. Who needs a house when you can have a spaceship?
-
Whoa whoa whoa, we're talking about a first person shooter, not a sim game.
-
I think you guys are going in a bit too in-depth with this.
-
the house that provides somewhere you can call home should be your ship it would be nice if you could actually land your ship on the open world; imagine if you choose to hide your ship in a given location and use it as your alamo for when you choose to escape from the region/planet which you are fighting on
-
I'd rather live on my spaceship, personally.
