It's still the same Graphics and Engine as the 2006 announcement trailer. God you people whine so much. " Oh cheif isn't as shiny as he was b4" " Oh Halo3 won't look as good as COD4 or GearsOfWar" "Oh how come your characters armor isn't shining in every screenshot". You really think that walking around shiny makes graphics look good? STFU. First of all the Graphics have actually improved. It was the lighting of the scene that made cheif look so bright and detailed. As for the second picture he was underground therefore he's doesn't have as many reflections on his armor as the Announcement trailer. I think the 3rd picture looks the actually. Just because he's not glowing brightly doesn't mean that the graphics got worse. Bungie didn't promise us 2115 graphics even though they're already working towards it lol. Just because everyone isn't sniny like in Gears of War doesn't mean Halo's graphics are anyless better. Think about this gears of war has good graphics because they focus on smaller levels and close range combat and the same repetitive areas. Gears of war developers focused on smaller landscapes and close close range combat. In Gears the world revolves around Marcus and his squad So therefore it's not a living breathing world like Halo3 where actual battles are being fought all over the level on a much bigger scale. They don't wander very far from eachother and they're always in horribly close quaters which made making everything looked detailed easier. Halo3 is a bigger bigger picture. Halo3 has vast land scapes the stretch dozens of miles long. Beautiful scenery, jungles water falls, chasms, huge deserts and plains. Halo3 has huge complex levels that they spend soo long tuning the graphics on. You'll be in a vehicle full of marines 2 miles away from your co-op partners who are fighting a seperate battle. Bungie details Huge environments and Halo has more enemies, vehicles AI and a deeper story and battles, instead of your usual small 4 vs 8 skirmishes that you fight in gears of war.The reason I'm really going kinda crazy with this speech is because I'm tired of people thinking that Gears sets the standard for Graphics of any game thats released after it. Gears Of War is a great game and I really like it but, stop being ignorant and look at the bigger picture. Did the developers of gears have to worry about A 7mile long landscape with 20 different battles going on and dozens or maybe hundreds of people fighting at once with super smart AI and a vast amount of weapons and vehicles lying around and then you look around and you can see battles going on that are miles away with beautiful scenery and then you look up at the sky and see fleets of ships fighting and blasting eachother out of the sky for miles to see, compared to GearOfWars gray foggy sky? Wait no I didn't think so. Gears doesn't even have half of the things listed above. Yeah so what the 4 of you split up. Well you don't go very far. All you do is knock down the wall and you see Marcus and the other member in your squad " Oh Hi Marcus I thought we were splitting up." Halo3 has a living breathing world where if you don't get to the marines in time to help oh well they die or they win the battle by themselves. Not like Gears where Marcus enters one certain area and that triggers 2 COG soldiers to fight about 15 Grubs then you come to the rescue. Gears Of War is a set course with skirmishes through out the level. Halo3 is a warzone where you can look and see some Battles unfold with out interfering or you can jump in the fight with 100 different ways to take the fight to an enemy. Even In Halo CE remember the beginning of the second level where your lifepod crashes and you and cortana step onto Halo for the first time and see that beautiful scenery and backround like, the water fall chasm then you look out on the edge of the cliff and see where the Halo actually goes and the ocean and landscape and your just like "wow this scene is beautiful". If you didn't think that scene was just amazing your a terrible game critic and should lock yourself in the closet. In GearsOfWar were you ever smacked in the face by a scene like that. No I don't think so, not by a long shot. Don't think I'm going after GearsOfWar because I don't like it. I'm going after GearsOfWar because whenever there is a new release about Halo3's campaign or a post about it graphics or gameplay, GOW, Killzone and COD fanboys the first ones to jump in and say no Halo3 graphics suck and aren't good enough. Or " Oh well um Halo3 isn't realistic enough to be a good game it has aliens and planets shaped like rings, Wtf lololz" Or " Halo3 sucks because it doesn't look like real war and"....... Hold up stop right there. COD/Killzone maniacs were so sorry that Halo3 doesn't have numerous explosions in the backround and gunfire coming from no one to make it look like a good war game. We are sooo sorry that Halo3 has more likeable battles without phony explosions that you either can't see or don't effect you. Most of all me Bungie and Halo fans are so terribly sorry that Halo games "suck" because they sold more copies than GOW, COD and Killzone. So before you judge Halo3 stop being a dumb little -blam!- and look at the bigger picture before saying " Killzone2 or COD4 will pwnz Halo3 lolzlolzlolzlolz" because I'm sure that they got alot of ideas from the Halo series, Being that Halo ummm I don't know....... *COUGH* Revolutionized FPS games and put them back on the map.
