ok.. i don't know if this has been said already because i don't want to read 50 pages of bullcrap.. The crosshair is moved down because it has to be there.. Do you hold the gun at eye-height? do you shoot from your eyes or something? No.. you have the gun at shoulder height.. you look down to the gun. Therefore it can't be in the middle. What bungie did was correct. If you would hold the gun to your eye like a sniper rifle, then the crosshairs have to be in the middle.. Otherwhise not. [Edited on 09.02.2007 2:53 AM PDT]
