Strad was trying to be sarcastic and point out to you that you misspelled Vehicle.
Oh, lol. I'll fix that later.

half of those reasons make no sense.
the only real reason there cant be a scarab is because of lag.
you can program it to be a vehicle
in halo 2 it was piloted by elites
it can spawn crouched so you can get in... that has to be the worst point
it could be an objective gametype - take down the scarab, then it doesnt matter what happens after it blows up
you said that it was strong against people but not against vehicles, doesnt that make it balanced?
lag - ill grant you that
the only reason nobody uses the elephangt is because
a; its too slow
b; it doesnt have enough firepower, and spawns facing the wrong way so the side turret is useless
c; there isnt enough protection on it.
a scarab that was reasonably fast in a straight line, slow turns and weak against vehicles would be perfect.
why do you even play a custem game on a map with stuff you dont want on it, takes 5 seconds to delete it in forge. or you could give each team one...
it would be an awesome gametype without lag, AR starts with rockets placed on the scarab. attackers with 2 gause hogs and a missle pod on a fast respawn. plus other forms of vehicles such as a hornet and banshees spawning on top of the scarab. basically just take out its legs and board it, while the defenders are doing all they can to stop you
laggy? perhaps
hellofalottafun? YES

Well, I knew we'd get a dissenter eventually.
1. The Lag reason alone should be enough to prevent Bungie from putting it into Matchmaking.
2. You can program it to be a vehicle. You can program a Brute to shoot Spartan Laser shots out his ass. Doesn't mean that it can be done at this stage of the game's life, or that Bungie would take the time or resources to do it. If Bungie were going to do this, they would do it off existing game code; they wouldn't create a whole new vehicle.
3. It most certainly was not piloted by Elites. Those Elites were just standing there. They weren't actually doing anything.
4. It only crouches if it is structurally unsafe. Otherwise it is standing up. No, it could not spawn crouched.
5. There's no way in hell Bungie is going to make a new objective gametype; esp. one as dumb as "Take down the Scarab." I'm not even sure if that is possible at this point.
6. The shotgun is good against people but not against vehicles. Does that mean it is balanced? No. The Scarab represents two extremes on the spectrum with vehicles and people. It is too good against people, and too bad against vehicles.
7. And all your reasons about why people don't use the Elephant would apply to the Scarab. Thanks for making my point for me.
8. Why would it ever need to move in a straight line? If anything, it would need to be able to turn quickly to combat Warthogs and stuff. Your Scarab idea sounds worse than if they just put the Campaign one in.
9. Fun is subjective; what you think is "fun" I probably thing is lame, and what I think is "fun" you probably think is lame. Your point about how "It would be so fun" is invalid.

What if it was still unusable, and there was only one, and controlled by the game, but was on neither team, and maybe couldn't even be destroyed?
The only things that leaves is map size, and lag.
If it was implemented into MM, then I'm sure Bungie would put it on a map where it would fit, and wouldn't overload the game with lag.

So it would be a kind of "Killed by the Guardians" kind of thing, huh? I generally speaking think that unless the Guardians are represented by a Fusion Coil or a Death Wall, that they shouldn't be used in Multiplayer maps.

Why do people like to crush our dreams? Maybe he's just mad because he keeps getting killed by the Scarab...
Who are you talking to/about?
Posted by: Immortal KO
99% true.
The scarab wouldn't lagg the game too badly because it doesn't matter how big something is, it matters how much data the object has; a camping stool can make a 360 freeze if give it an entire physics engine and 1gb of graphics.
Edit: I agree with the rest though, just thought I would point this out.
You are right, that is one way it can lag. However, most of what causes lag is trying to network the information between so many people at once. The fact that the game can function at all is mostly due to the fact that the things moving are so small compaired to the map itself, and that's why they thought XBL Campaign would be too laggy to impliment. The fact that the Scarab has so much going on around and on it, and the fact that it is so big, probably would make it very hard to network.
