Pokemon has way more ways to mitigate the rng for shiny hunting, so that 1/4096 chance isn’t really representative of the experience.
Edit: Just to make the point I went out and got myself a new shiny pokemon (it was an Oddish), it took less than an hour.
Second edit: Just to further make my point and show that the Oddish wasn't a fluke I went got myself a shiny Ralts, it took like maybe 3 hours, probably closer to 2.

I can assure it that the odds are always bad even when mitigating them. If you target farming high end stats, genders etc then the odds are astronomical. Every destiny player wants the pinnacle loot now and if everyone has everything then nothing is special.

It's not like shiny pokemon are insanely common but if you know what you're doing it's definitely not astronomical, I've got several dozen including a couple with naturally good stats. Incidentally, Pokemon allows you to change stats, natures, abilities, egg moves, pretty much everything except gender (which only matters for like 3 pokemon). Maybe if Destiny had similar levels of customization, we'd be able to entertain the idea of shiny pokemon levels of rarity in loot.

It allows you to maximise stats, not change them. A 0IV and 0IV Attack shiny wild pokemon with a gender you want is crazy impossible to get. Destiny players wanting a 7/7 shiny adept have better odds. Personally I think the Destiny sentiment for the ‘perfect’ gun has become more since crafting gave everyone the perfect weapons. Even 3/5 rolls are perfectly fine to perform in every activity in the game. It just people don’t want to accept that.

0 ivs has way less impact and is way more situational than something like a missing perk or wrong masterwork, and like I said gender is negligible for 99% of mons.
-
You’re factually incorrect. A masterwork stat in game when transferred through the mechanical skill of a player has such less impact than a numerical calculator of yes you are casting in trick room or no you’re not - you literally lose if your stat isn’t better whereas destiny you don’t.
-
You would be right assuming that having imperfect speed IVs meant you would actually be getting outsped in trick room but the reality is that 99% of the time a trick room mon with non-zero or even max speed IVs will still be much slower than a regular mon, the only time it won't is if you're facing another trick room team in which case it just becomes a mind game of setting/cancelling trick room. Not to mention you can still win even if you don't go first, it's not an instant loss. And all of that is assuming you're even using a trick room team in the first place.

PS loving the pokemon chat btw

But same vs same I am correct and hence why people want it. Everyone running around with TR Blood Moon Ursaluna showed who farmed for a 0 or very low speed IV. My point is and something that I think crafting spoiled for people is that amazing weapons don’t need to be 5/5. I actually think a 3/5 weapon is easily good enough. I’ve done solo flawless 7 win streak in trials, master raids, day one raid and all the ‘hardest’ things in this game with ‘imperfect’ weapons.
