Just throwin it out there for anyone not vibing with D2 these days. I played some of TFS but didn’t even finish it tbh. Just wasn’t my vibe. Tone of D2 does not feel like the destiny i fell in love with.
That said, other than the low frames and lack of live events, D1 is still everything I am looking for in a Destiny and feels much more like a real mmo. I’m sure someone will comment about this being rose colored glasses. Hate to break it to you but I have been actively playing both games and still hold to this opinion.
QoL and smooth frames don’t fix lack of care for the game and its players.

First Descendent is everything I have been wanting from D2, and at 60fps , just hit season level 50, mastery rank 16 , starting hard tier and dipping my toe into the endgame, and the breathtaking scenery just icing on the cake 😁 Plus I am getting back into Warframe, trying to get caught up before Warframe 99 this fall , got a bunch of frames to farm out, and got to get a collection of prime sets and high value mods to sale again But I don't blame you for going back to D1, when the world of Destiny felt so much bigger, now its a small timegated sardine can -
12 RepliesBut D2 is so much more about the people playing it.

1 ReplyD2 has become so difficult. It’s not even fun anymore. It’s just annoying. They have completely lost site of how to make a fun game.
-
8 RepliesGood for you, but I'll just stay over here with the non cool kids in d2. Thanks for sharing though, hope you enjoy.

Unpopular opinion, but 30 FPS is all you need and if you want more, you’re doin’ too much.
Tone of D2 does not feel like the destiny i fell in love with.
Options will vary, but Destiny 1 still to this day is the better game when it comes to how a game is designed. What's disturbing is how a lot of people think gimmicks are how a game should be designed, and that is what this developer and their streamer buddies have pushed onto the player base for far too long. Quality will always win over quantity, and the original Bungie devs proved that. Destiny 2 majorly lacks in quality content because a hell of a lot of the content is pushed out the door unplaytested and they even admitted that they don't always playtest the content that is designed, and it doesn't help any that they don't play their game. Not only are they setting the player base up for a downfall, but they are screwing themselves with this flawed logic. That is not how any game should ever be designed, period. So, when this developer realizes that the player base is tired of this, they pretend they are going to fix whatever issue they caused but 90% of the time their fix ends up being a half-backed solution to buy time.
I’m sure someone will comment about this being rose colored glasses.
Or, you will have the ones trying to pass off "it's just nostalgia". Sorry, not sorry, but that is 100% hogwash. It's a weak at best excuse for how poorly this game is designed versus Destiny 1.

3 RepliesQuit with your lies! I went back to d1 Sunday evening for some crucible. Couldn't find a single match in any of the playlist. Even got error coded because matchmaking took too long.
-
I will forever love D1 but they ruined it with the last special ammo economy they put into crucible. Funnily enough they’ve basically done the same to D2.
-
D1 has a great soundtrack and good memories. I went back a few years ago and tried again but.... Even in 2024 Bungie won't add a simple 60FPS or FOV slider patch to D1 so it makes it hard to go back and experience it again.

QoL and smooth frames don’t fix lack of care for the game and its players.
You just gonna forget how we had years of dry spells and balance patches playing d1? Yea d1 sound nice but don’t act like that game was/is flawless, it’s just as bad if not worst then how they take care of d2.
-
I wish it was on PC.

I too tend to like to pop back into D1 when I get, insert your own four letter words noting fun is only 3 so does not apply! I vastly prefer D1 to D2 in its funess to play. Yet I love a great many things, most actually, in D2. I just wish they could marry the best of both worlds and include ALL lost content. Heck even Mercury - maybe.

4 Replies30 fps just hurts

Maybe I will try it. I had an old shadow price that tore it up in PvP.

Edited by Mara Sovereign: 7/27/2024 5:56:53 AMI too still get invites from friends at d1 on gen 3 even, where there's still constant new lights coming in. D2 is great in a lot of ways, but being fun isn't one of them. I'm on gen 3,4 and 5 there more than at D2.
-
I still play D1 from time to time as well. While both games have their pros/cons I always enjoy going back to D1, less horde modes and just strikes in the playlist!!
-
1 ReplyDude if you’re ever on Xbox invite me. I catch myself having way more fun on d1 than d2 these days too.
-
I would play D1 but it’s not on PC, I don’t even care about the FPS I just don’t wanna be constantly jumping between setups (plus my PS4 controller has stick drift LMAO)

8 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 7/27/2024 7:17:42 AMYeah gotta say that’s rose tinted glasses my guy. Great a decade ago but it’s all nostalgia now. I’ll skip the the 30 FPS and hour wait times to play a match. Have fun though.
-
What all do you get up to? I had deleted characters and did play through a time or two
-
14 RepliesRose tinted glasses. D2 is an objectively all round better game.

must be nice to find matches
