I saw more ARs and fusions that SMGs this weekend in trials. Buuuuut people have to blame something.

Your personal experience doesn't make the problems go away. I see way too many who think their personal experience means that there's no problems. Statistically, SMG's have been dominating all season so far, by a wide margin. Across ALL games, not just yours.
