PvP ain’t even fun anymore with nothing but SMG

PvP is legit boring & more annoying then ever because of everyone using SMGs constantly. I never once not wanted to play PvP until now… it’s sad

  • As soon as I heard about the SMG problem I put on MIDA and a 360 rpm sidearm and I've been okay. If anything I've been seeing AR's more than SMG's but that's just my experience.

      • I haven't played too much PvP this season but when I did I was using the funnel web and a pulse rifle. Smg's are in a good place so of course people are gonna use them.

      • According to trials report, SMGs account for the same percentage of kills per week that Hand Cannons had prior to this season. We lived with HC domination for years...I think we can survive the new SMG meta for a couple of months.

              As a PVE player, I had my first go at Trials this week just to get the SMG and see what the fuss was about, and it was a rubbish experience that I expected far more from. Same map, 99% of players ran the Immortal and a sniper, and the game play went, pretty much, the same each time (boring !). The only variance being that players would either wipe the opposing team before I got a shot off, or we'd all get smashed within 20 seconds. Occasionally there was a challenging, fun game but it really was a non-event. Honestly.. I've had more fun in Gambit and will probably stick to that and Iron Banner from here on for my PVP fix. I can see how it's probably a nice ego boost for the elite players, but I just can't bothered putting in the 10,000 hours of practice to get to their level. The gap in players is just too huge to make it either competitive or enjoyable. I'll probably only do it occasionally for a few of the cool weapons on offer. A totally underwhelming experience. My 2 cents..

              • Well, as I'm always late to the party, I've just discovered the fun of using Le-Mon in PvP. I only tried it to get a bow bounty, now I'm on my way to being a space-age Robin Hood. Give me another six months and I'll get an SMG (hopefully a silenced one like in ODST).

                    I'm honestly more annoyed with the amount of desync that's been plaguing the game. Since Crossplay was implemented, very little to do with player interaction has felt [i]"right"[/i]. Always some weird nonsense that Bungie overlooks because the PC population is the majority, so naturally the majority doesn't experience it (to a similar extent). It's baffling how matchmaker balancing is taking priority over the fundamental interaction between players. Like who cares about Skill-Based Matchmaking or Connection Based Matchmaking or Fireteam-Based Matchmaking when any shmoe from a differing console isn't experiencing flinch or causing damage glitches. There's like [i]no[/i] integrity to the skill matchup and [i]no[/i] integrity to the gunfights anymore.

                    • Try using a fusion rifle, if you can pick your fights right and anticipate you’ll easily clean em up. I rather die by smg users than snipers/fusion rifle users.

                      I've been using telesto again. At least you get a trade if you pre-charge lol. Been playing mostly comp now and I don't see Immortal being a problem, some occasional crossplay laggers are more annoying. It's an immediate 0.something kd game when everyone else is on Playstation :D But then again I'm only at platinum maybe the creeps have crawled up there lol

                      • The main issue with pvp is that there hasn't been an actual pvp team in like 4 years. (These clown interns who put together rift and disjunction don't count) Balancing an op smg can be done in 2 seconds. This abandoned trash pile thats called the crucible tho? Lost cause. Bungie let pvp die on purpose because their upcoming pvp game needs to be sold as the holy savior for the pvp player portion of Bungies community. Scummiest dev ive ever seen.

                        • Also equally annoying is that for some reason titans have 0 cool down on their melees. Idk if it's a bug right now but i don't ever remember the melees being back to back this fast like i'm seeing since lightfall in pvp.

                          • Snipers are and have been a much bigger issue to me than any other weapon in crucible. It’s beyond infuriating to be lasering somebody to only get domed through flinch.
