I like it. The mode has never been great, but it improved a lot from Destiny 1 to 2, and I think the 3v3 format is what it finally needed to be truly enjoyable.

It’s really not. Destiny 1 rift was genuinely terrible. Everyone complained about it. The Destiny 2 variant fixed a lot of the issues. All that’s wrong with it now is the utter chaos of 6v6. In 3v3 it’s much more manageable. The question now is what shrooms you’re on to think it’s so bad.

The chaos is what people liked, 6v6 was the best version of the mode and it had 6 seconds per respawn

Then why was it so hated in Destiny 1? People BEGGED Bungie to remove it from Iron Banner, and then they finally did in Rise of Iron (or maybe April Update? I don’t remember). The 3v3 format allows for much more strategy than 6v6. It’s honestly really enjoyable if you get teammates that know what to do.

No, people specifically said they didn't want Rift because according to a lot of people, it was literal torture. Clash and Control were both fine for most people. Let me guess, you also forget how hated Supremacy was? I'm guessing people are going to ask for that back next, only to hate it again like they're doing with Rift. It's really a shame. We ask for things back that we somehow forgot how much we hated. Then Bungie, knowing how much people hated the original iteration, makes some tweaks to improve the experience. People then hate it again, but blame it on the changes rather than the core concept. Why can't we ask for things back that people actually liked? Like Combined Arms. I see no one ask for that back, but it was received really well in Destiny 1. They could even improve upon it a lot with Destiny 2's vehicle additions.

My guy you are just wrong, people liked Rift from D1 they just didn’t want it in IB because they preferred Clash. People complained about Control and have been for years idk how you dont know any of this but yet pretend it didn’t happen and instead happened your way

I'm not placing words in your mouth. I'm just predicting the community's next idiotic suggestion. We always do this, so making predictions is like a game to me. Why would people prefer Clash? Control was always the preferred mode for Iron Banner. That's why Iron Banner was made exclusively Control for a long time. The only thing people complain about with Control is teammates not capturing zones. That's a community issue, not a gamemode issue. Rift was hated regardless of where it was played. People just wanted it out of Iron Banner so that they wouldn't have to play it to get Iron Banner rewards. They didn't mind it being its own playlist because regardless of how bad it was, it wasn't going to affect them. You could say that I'm remembering this incorrectly, and I will admit that that would normally be something to consider. But I've already done that countless times in this community. Every single time I dig deep into the archives to find the truth, I always find that my memory is correct, and that the community's memory is wrong. It's clear that people here aren't a credible source for historical accuracy.

Cause i never said i liked supremacy yet you argued that because you assume i liked it. You can literally go back to D1 forms and go find those posts they still exist

You actually can't go back and find Destiny 1 posts about it. I already tried. There's no way to search for them through here, and searching through a search engine only provides recent (Destiny 2) results.

That doesn't disprove my claim, it just means that most of the information is buried under bigger and more modern topics. The Atheon cheese can be found easily because it's highly unique. Complaints about Rift are no longer unique to Destiny 1 because people are predictably complaining about it now as well.
