I agree. Rift is such a terrible mode. They should just listen to their player base and retire this mode instead of trying to die on this hill for no reason. You'd think Bungie would FINALLY listen after that one season where they tried to shoehorn it into Iron Banner and people hated it so fking much they revolted and just started throwing every single game, en masse. But nope they're still trying to shoehorn it in. [spoiler]As if comp wasn't already enough of a joke compared to comp in just about any other PvP game in the modern landscape as is.[/spoiler]

Bad players hate OBJ modes

Exactly! competitive should serve the competitive players! who happen to play trials. Where can we practice for trials? being back the 3v3 survival comp modes.

I like it. The mode has never been great, but it improved a lot from Destiny 1 to 2, and I think the 3v3 format is what it finally needed to be truly enjoyable.

Competitive needs the following changes other than literal weapon meta shifts which also need to happen -showdown needs to remove the rez system. It encourages passive play while punishing aggressive plays and playmakers way too harshly. We want a fast paced environment where duels are taken, not avoided. -countdown should be added back -elimination should be added back -rift should be completely removed -there should be actual rewards for comp besides ONE WEAPON that can only drop three times a week. That weapon should drop with every rank up as well. And HIGHER RANK PLAYERS SHOULD BE REWARDED. And not just an emblem. We give adept weapons to nightfall players, rewarding them for grinding out their power and not touching grass. Yet players that hit ascendant get nothing. And next season? An emblem. That’s it. There needs to be an adept or pinnacle weapon equivalent to doing comp. We need exclusive rewards and comp needs to be treated as an actual valid activity in the game. We also need high impact pulses nerfed, fusions nerfed. After smgs of course. I’m sick of this lane game garbage. Forsaken was the last time bungie knew what they were doing. They gave us Last Wish an actual difficult yet beautiful raid and day one, the Rivensbane title, blacksmith, and an actual competitive pvp sandbox. With exclusive weapons for good players in each activity. But there wasn’t a hard ranked system and Lunas and recluse were TOO broken. But we have so many weapon alternatives now. No one NEEDS the best weapons. There should be the best weapons only accessible to the best players. And reward down by tier from there. Actually incentivize climbing.

It really does need to be removed from the competitive game mode. No doubt at all, the majority of the community want it removed from competitive and I wish Bungie would act on this soon.
