The 'new' weapons are mostly old weapons with maybe a new perk, but not worth the grind of crafting. We were encouraged to trash these weapons a long time ago because they were no longer relevant. Now suddenly they're wonderful and new. I started to get red box weapons clogging up my mail box and vault so now just break them down for the shards.
