I mean I still just farm for weapons… haven’t touched crafting since the exotic glaive mission… crafting is horrible..
The resource caps are ridiculous, also when you craft a weapon it has horrible rolls.. this game requires you to have specific rolls to compete and no one is really gonna rank up a weapon to level 15 at the moment…
Well that’s my rant…

It’s just make work. No reason for it because you can’t craft what you really want, just what Bumgle allows you to. It’s their usual control freak garbage. It’s quite liberating to just toss the red box weapons in the trash and to play how I want.

Sure it sounds good, weapon crafting in destiny! Bungie will bungie this seeming good feature and make it -blam!- just like they do everything. -
3 RepliesChances are you will drop the roll you want before you get to craft it anyway.
-
1 ReplyIdk about you but I think the power of certain enhanced perks, and the guarantee of getting the exact roll you want, makes weapon crafting worth it. My main complaints with the system are how slowly you get neutral element for how much of it you need, and that it's too expensive to really do any experimentation. Were those to be fixed I think it would be a perfect system.

13 RepliesThe part of getting 5 red box weapons first is the throw away part for me.

If the shaped weapons were unique, I could see the appeal in crafting, but since they're all available elsewhere, it's hard to see the point of the hassle & grind. Hoarding & using under-light or weapon types you don't like just to unlock the deepsight resonance or to get mats is also unappealing. Not a fun experience. Not sure who thought that was a good idea.
-
I don't. I prefer not to forge a weapon. Specifically since they require a -blam!- ton to make. Not worth the time in a season to do.

2 RepliesEdited by Jamestown01010: 3/19/2022 6:16:38 AMMost annoying thing in the game now is getting red weapons. I don’t want to get a ridiculous amount of kills with a weapon I hate using. Now I just dismantle them. Weapon crafting is not even fun, it’s just more grind. Wait, maybe more annoying was carrying the dumb worm on that last mission.
-
It’s just another good idea implemented poorly. It seems to be Bungie’s mantra lol. It’s obvious this focus was to keep us on the hamster wheel longer, not give us meaningful, let alone fun stuff to do. We can only hope they improve it but I’m not bothering with it until they do
-
3 RepliesFor me the damage was done when a large portion of weapons I spent a lot of time grinding god rolls were sunset and even though Bungie admitted sunsetting was a failure, we didn't get those weapon level limits removed. They even had the audacity to re-release some of them to grind again. These weapons weren't removed to balance the game, they are just moving the carrot on the stick. If Bungie didn't respect my time then, why would they start doing it now? You can bet any enhanced perk on these crafted weapons deemed too powerful will get a nerf. Time to play other games until some more fresh content comes out. Crafting weapons isn't content. Unlock my Blast Furnace!
-
I don't even care about caps or resources I just simply don't give a -blam!- about the crafting whatsoever lol.
-
2 RepliesI only craft if a quest requires it.
-
I think the only way "craftable" weapons would be ideal is if the "random" version of them was a fixed roll. Basically then, the only way to randomize one would be to craft it, then it would be worth it. All that time and material to basically, eventually, put 2 "enhanced" traits on one is quite the grind that most wont attempt. I know i wont.

Another “don’t care” vote here. Aside from the clunkiness, backwards approaches, and missing features, in general it just doesn’t seem (to me) like it fits the game in the first place. I’m capped on elements, got 30 or so deepsight weapons done and in the vault. But I’m unlikely to need them given how little I expect to use the system.
-
8 RepliesI've largely given up. It feels terrible to have caps on mats, have to hoard items in the bank to keep them 'reserved' for when I might need them, and especially bad that there while at tuning them, bone of that experience goes toward the weapon you have crafted. So, you get a decent roll with a random drop, get a few kills with it, but your poor crafted weapon just sits there. Clunky, awkward, contrived. Not fun. I've been dismantling red bars because why bother?

Crafting becomes more fun with Enhanced traits but for a lowly solo player its IMPOSSIBLE to get any Alloy's other then the ONE (yes I'm screaming) you get to buy from the Rahool each week. Then when you go to 'reshape' for the exotic glaive you manage to do it on the one character that did not have that particular quest from the Board on him and you now have to wait another week to do the exact same thing all over again. Did I mention I'm screaming!!!
-
I don’t, and I used my glaive once’s and tossed it into the vault. I like my current weapons and find no use in “making” newish weapons.
-
Too much of a hassle
-
I don’t care about it. The system is tedious and a waste of time

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 3/17/2022 11:01:12 PMI still have no idea how it actually works. If your players have to watch a YouTube video to figure out your features, you have failed as a game developer. It might not be so bad if experimenting and trying things out wasn’t so punishing. I’m terrified to test the system because I know if I mess up I’ll just be back at square one with zero currency and more grind to look forward to.

Edited by hopesfall2own: 3/17/2022 1:28:30 AMI get more red weapons for ones you can't even craft than I do ones with patterns.. I don't even care anymore, I just straight up dismantle them like the others. I don't want to do more micromanagement - especially when it involves using weapons I don't want to and then it just keeps taking up inventory & vault space which makes me have to micromanage even more no can't be assed it's the epitome of a "gotcha" system
-
Yeah it’s lame and tedious
-
I dont´t care about crafting. I want amor MODS,and STATS over 60, Would you KINDLY give me that,Bungie?
-
It’s should be like gun bench in cod. Anything less is a disappointment and not worth any time invested

6 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 3/16/2022 6:32:06 PMIt is missing components like scopes and ability to pick your frame and design for me to take much interest in it. I mean l like the idea but it is lacking in the creation or crafting department. I honestly thought we were going to be able to choose a design, frame and level up the weapon to gain access to the magazine, scopes, barrels and perk options. The cost for the amount of effort put into the overall concept is far too expensive.

Edited by Cosmonauta: 3/18/2022 5:02:27 AMHmm. - Stupid materials cap, again. - Very little amount craftable - I used 3 A.Alloys for a catalyst. Forgot to change some perks to try them out and i need to spend 3 more A.Alloys for that? Stupid - Just finished my Red Herring god roll. It definitelly feels nice and there's hope for the Craft mecanic. - I dont understand the socket part. More useless grind for high dificulty activities - 5 patterns for some weapons? Almost one month and I just got the 2nd of those - Why cant we masterwork crafted ones? I want my gold border even tho orbs nerf :3 IDK. There are a lot of cons, Some pros, We just need to wait and see how it will evolve in the future.
