having read the lore for the vow of the disciple and seeing the state of mars does this make shadowkeep make more sense within the story
the nightmares we know are of past enemies and dead guardians from the original battle with crota i think its safe to say from what we’ve seen on mars having bits of its past peer through the nightmares now make a bit more sense than some random darkness power
also could it imply that the pyramid within the moon isnt abandoned but infact waiting for a disciple of earth to take control of it ?

1 Replywel it kinda always made sense, you just had to know a lot of lore. they kinda made it easier for more casual players to understand, but it was always interesting

8 RepliesEdited by Ferus Lux: 3/8/2022 6:39:14 AMNightmares were a narrative mistep and mistake. They didn't have the resources/time to make a more original story and enemy because they were leaving Activision during that time and lost access to their studios. The entire premise of the expansion: remixed location instead of a totally new one, reused past enemies, no creative set pieces in the campaign and hardly any cutscenes. If Shadowkeep never happened the story wouldn't be affected. We didn't have to go inside the Lunar Pyramid and could've waited till Arrivals. The connection to the Vex made zero sense and was a dead end. The Garden of Salvation was pointless and hilariously revealed NOTHING new about the Vex or Pyramids. The Ball thing could've just been given in Arrivals. I couldn't even tell you anything about Pit of Heresy either because it's lore was that uninspired and forgettable. So no. Nothing about that garbage DLC is relevant except Divinity. If I sound bitter it's definitely because I am. Worst year for lore because none of it developed into anything meaningful despite the entries actually being good individually like the K1 horror story and P53.

1 ReplyShadowkeep is like the teaser of the main story, while Beyond Light is the trailer and Witch Queen is the first act...

9 RepliesRather certain Eris was supposed to fall and become the disciple for it if anyone, but the guardian seemingly averted that by existing in this timeline
