black screen on launch
So i have pre loaded the game and i hear of some of my clan member being able to listen to the menu music unfortunately, i get black screened.
game starts, shows the normal destiny loading screen, turns unto a black screen shortly thereafter
Updated my drivers an verified my files, but unfortunately no change.
Am using windows 7.

BattlEye is not the issue this time, nothing blocked. I held out hope prelaunch that the blackscreen might just be visual and could be bypassed after launch with Enter and then the game would load. No luck. In the black screen state, it seems no keyboard input is acknowledged (neither Enter nor Esc). In the other thread someone suggested Alt+Enter to swap to windowed fullscreen; this does indeed do a graphical resolution change but once complete remains a black screen with music.

Me too. I can hear the login theme, but can't see the screen. It only appears black. I'm using Windows 7 too.

6 RepliesEdited by Fulgerion: 2/22/2022 10:56:19 AMMight have something to do with Win 7 being buried since January 14, 2020. You are shooting yourself in the foot here. The operating system is dead. You should be expecting insane amounts of problems with it if you are still using it today. Best to wait until Bungie decides to work on a fix. Or upgrade. The watermark isn't all that bad if you want to use Win10 for free.
