Hype is dying over orbs
Good job Bungie you literally are killing any hype a lot of people had by ignoring what people wanted and spun it into something else that sounds like 80% of what we wanted. Make it a mod on our ghost for zero energy, or give armor an extra slot that doesn't cost energy for a specific mod. Or just make all weapons by default make orbs and you use masterworks as a way to give a small stat buff to weapons only. If you have something planned but haven't told us yet you better show it off soon because if not then you're just going to have angry players for the next month til Witch Queen and a good chunk will not even play it.

There’s actually a reason for the orb change (or so we are theorizing) They mentioned a few TWABs ago that masterwork orb gen is bloating memory space for guns, which means if they get rid of that, they have more memory space for weapons.

It’s literally not a big deal, they provided minimal gains in most activities, trust me. If I’m not mad the most regular players shouldn’t be either as I end 95% of my strikes etc… having generated over 40+ orbs and blueberries have made less than 10. So you really don’t need those orbs

Look at all the post on this forum and other places telling Bungie what a horrible idea all this is. Bungie now has the attention of the part of the community that was most likely to ignore their marketing of TWQ. Plus all the bad news is out of the way and won’t muddy the message that they’ll give to casuals as the game gets closer to release. Lesson: when you are emotional and reactive, other people are in control. When you calm down, slow down, and try understand? That’s when your back in control. Get real. No one is going to quit this game over these changes and Bungie knows it. But the anger and anxiety that they are creating in some of you is useful in securing and keeping your [i]attention.[/i] Both to Bungie and content creators who are fanning the flames.

Yeah I help an IRL friend get his gally and a couple of other bits on friday then logged off. I ain't been on since. What's the point? Anything I grind for or masterwork in the next 5 weeks is a waste of time. I'll play other stuff for a bit, Bungie have zero respect for the time players have invested.

Personally... I'm done spending anything on destiny. Crucible is trash. Cbmm is trash and cheesy weapons and abilities make the mode even worst. PvE was okay but is about to be trash too. Bungie cares only about money. Sure you need money to keep the game going but to ruin the game for a lot of us and still believe we are going to keep spending our money on it is stupid. I'm not calling them stupid (mods) I am saying that their current mindset is going to hurt them financially. Anyway the orb rework is unnecessary...

1 ReplyThere is a reason why they want to implement extra perk on 'new' weapon. When that batch of weapons released, they are most likely better than the 'old' one, at least mentally. The 'old' weapons would not have that extra perks. Usable? Definitely. Less desirable? Surely. The extra perks are in place of masterwork orbs. All this 'beat around the bush' changes only point to the issue of vault space. The hidden agenda. Some part of the community call it 'sunsetting'. They are not far from the true. About weapons crafting, we don't know anything apart from that big butter knife. No point being upset by all this charade. It is Bungie you know and always will be. Nothing change. Enjoy it if you could, toss it if you would. Only you change, never Bungie. Only a video game anyway, take it easy.

This is how they do it btw. Announce sunset first then release an expansion. Announce game will be losing content then release an expansion. Announce stuff will be nerfed again then release an expansion. It’s not really the first time.

We have enough info. We need a mod to make orbs with solar and another one for void and so on. Every time you swap a weapon you got to change a mod and if you want orbs for two different type of weapons you need two mods. No room for finders. It's a f****d system. Just make all weapons in a Guardians hands generate orbs on double kills. Problem solved for everyone.

you do know that gives room for extra perks on weapons the couldnt before and they had said this previously they could not add anymore to weapons. But with this change they could add more perks to weapons so i would just wait and not stress bungie is sneaky about nerfing to buff things.

We are 5 months into a 6 month season , people are bored, nothing is going to kill the hype of new content -
The orb change is definitely going to shorten the Witch Queen honeymoon phase on release. It won't be long before we start seeing threads from people who don't really follow game news closely saying "What the hell bungie, why won't my guns make orbs any more?!" and people who are aware posting how peeved they are and that they were right about how bad this change is.

Nah. Am I disappointed that Master working seems to have less of a point? Yeah. Am I annoyed that they acted like this was so I wasn’t spending materials to master work a weapon I only use for a few hours? Yeah. I don’t even farm for them and I have like 1600 enhancement cores. lol and I’m being given less reason to use them. They’re not even used in changing armor element type. *sigh* and I just know we’re going to see more materials and currencies day one of Witch Queen. Still, I was not excited for Witch Queen for orb generation. We’ll find ways around this, but it does feel like a dumb nerf.

6 Repliesyour just basing this on what little info we have like you cant just wait until the change is here to maybe I dont know test its and see how it works instead of jumping the gun? look if this does become bad we aren't completely boned on this theres the warming cell mods adn the elemental well mods to use like I even tired them this season to get a feel for them so lets do the smart thing and wait until it happens and then try it out for all we know since orb gernation is big they may have a special slot for it on all helmets and it lets you make orbs with all the weapon slots (cause they never said anything on the primary slot) so yeah I know its not what you want ot hear but its the only solution we have
