Bungie doesn’t want you hyped.
They want you feeling anxious. You’ll become more invested.
Look at all the post on this forum and other places telling Bungie what a horrible idea all this is.
Bungie now has the attention of the part of the community that was most likely to ignore their marketing of TWQ.
Plus all the bad news is out of the way and won’t muddy the message that they’ll give to casuals as the game gets closer to release.
Lesson: when you are emotional and reactive, other people are in control.
When you calm down, slow down, and try understand? That’s when your back in control.
Get real. No one is going to quit this game over these changes and Bungie knows it. But the anger and anxiety that they are creating in some of you is useful in securing and keeping your attention.
Both to Bungie and content creators who are fanning the flames.
Bungie doesn’t want you hyped. They want you feeling anxious. You’ll become more invested.
No, they have me reconsidering my purchase, not anxious and invested. Continuously nerfing guardian progression, power, and build variety shows me they prefer the customer to play the game in a manner that suits the developers and not the customer. They nerfed focusing lens in well, nerfed how tether/bubble/particle deconstruction coexists. They nerfed bubble and well by tying it to resilience. They want to slow you down as much as possible, keep the sh!t infested grind going on as long as possible, until you finally go mad and give up. Anything to artificially inflate game play time; as long as the numbers look good they'll keep doing the same bullsh!t.

Three 1360 characters? You aren’t going anywhere, and not over this. That’s the brilliance of what their doing. Piss off casuals? They may actually leave. Piss off the most committed? Naah. They’ve got too much invested. They’ll complain. They’ll grumble. But they’ll stay until the good news drops. They’ll stay until it gets fixed if it face plants. If they do leave, odds are they’ll come back. Anyone following the TWAB every week is so invested in this game, WE aren’t going anywhere over something like this.

Edited by Illuminary: 1/17/2022 3:15:22 AMLiquid can only boil for so long before it boils over. The game has a laundry list of issues plus all of the anti player changes. Just because I have three 1360s doesn't mean I haven't reached my fed up point. Bungie got you thinking this is the only game that exists.

Only your not a pot of water None of us are. We can chose how we relate to the game.

Especially when we all know there is more to it all. Bungie isn't sharing everything and probably won't.

I ca-blam!- with that. Not my proudest claim that I’ve spent too much money into this to simply walk away, I’ll take breaks here and there but with the amount of time and money I’ve invested, I can’t walk away all together.

Are you still having fun? If so, then nothing wasted. If you aren’t, then it’s the sunk cost fallacy. You’ve gotten what you’ve paid for why throw good money after bad? It’s why I keep trying to tell people to focus on what they enjoy and move towards that, rather than always focusing on what Bungie is doing.

I still have fun but I do get burnt out after a couple weeks of playing non stop. I usually take a week break in a month whenever that happens.

Sounds pretty healthy to me.

Edited by kellygreen45: 1/17/2022 2:12:07 PMAny words with a certain letter sequence in is spelling are getting censored. Edit: Seems Bungie fixed that one. Finally.
