....and we're back with the crashes. It's been working like a charm lately and I haven't faced any issues until today. UPDATE 1: Open Steam > Library > right click on Destiny 2 > Properties > Launch Options: /belaunch -be UPDATE 2: Disabling BattlEye Launcher.exe in Task Manager makes the game to work without crashes. Found the issue; BattlEye!!!

  • Thank you for the Update3 guys! Glad you found the source of the problem and hope its resolved shortly. I came here to post again since I upgraded from 1080 Ti to RTX 3070 and got the same crash in hopes to provide some more evidence that its not GPU related.

  • Glad you've found the source of the issue! Are there any workarounds we can do on our side to mitigate this in the meantime?

  • Windows 7 User - Steam I also had the issue and was unable to start the game. I can confirm after reformatting new drive with windows 10 and reinstalling the game via steam it does in fact boot and I am able to play. I realize this is not acceptable or possibly cost effective for some players, but it did resolve my issue.

  • I'm apparently not as lucky. It crashes to a full power-down of my PC or a restart. No error code just shuts down or restarts (when it shuts down I have to manually dump ambient power from the PSU before I can power back up) I have literally never had this problem before and I meet or exceed hardware recommendations. No, I am not using a Samsung SSD. CPU and GPU temperatures have never gotten outside of optimal conditions. I have completely wiped the HDD and SSD and re-installed Windows from scratch. Same issues are present. Choppy in the inventory, quest/bounty section and friends list followed by a random crash either loading into the tower, crucible, lost sectors, planets, the no 6P activity. All drivers are up to date. All OS updates are installed. Useless audio drivers are disabled where possible. Verified Steam game file integrity. Every solution posted, I have tried. Nothing. This, this has had me thinking all day today that my PC is now a brick but apparently I'm not alone (but seeing the worst case scenario apparently)

  • Some users reported that BattlEye Launcher is the issue. Apparently ending the process for, specifically, the launcher after the game starts up is supposedly helping the crashing issues. It might not be the source of the problem but it might be what needs to be investigated.

  • My issue yesterday was that the game was closing with no error code, it now wont allow me to open the game. When can we expect an update on this issue?

  • Not sure how it couldn't be battle eye. Please remove or only have it be active in PVP or something. My game is literally unplayable since the update, and it had absolutely no issues before the battleeye installation.

  • Yes Samsung SSD, no to Samsung Magician. I reinstalled Destiny and it worked like a charm once. But now, starting game a second time, it's back to choppy and unplayable.

I am getting these same crashing issues. Switching weapons, exploring lost sectors, BEING IDLE IN ORBIT, etc. my game cannot seem to run properly and I receive no error codes. I'm sure BattleEye has something to do with it but as of right now, this game is unplayable. Ryzen 5 2600x MSI GeForce GTX 1660Ti

  • No error codes, just freezes and the app closes after few seconds. I tried to play the lost sector 1350 and freezes at the same point. I have Ryzen 3600 just updated, and RTX2060. I will try with Stadia lets see what happens there.

  • I've had a couple crashes this morning and received no error codes. Game froze and 30 seconds later the game closed and I had to re-launch. Was mid gambit and got a message about leaving gambit matches.

  • Exactly the same crashes as yours. Started just after this Tuesday update. My first crash was on the cocoon mission, had 2 crashes there, then afterwards all over the place. I cannot seem to reproduce it, it seems random but I'm sure it isn't. • Disable Samsung Magician and see if that helps. From the data I'm gathering it seems to be happening to users with Samsung SSDs, running Samsung Magician v3.6 in the background. Thank you for mentioning that you have a Samsung disk as this is helping my effort to figure out the cause of the issue

  • I am also getting Bad Module Info problems but only when I tried to raid, the game froze and then crashed giving me that bad module info popup. I reset my computer and it happened again.

  • Same issue. The game just crashes after a few minutes even if I am in Orbit. I guess something is wrong with BattleEye. And I don't have 3rdparty software from Razer, MSI and etc. on my laptop.
