We pay minimum $80 a year for a game with -blam!- all for content that become worse with every passing year while reaping record profits while being as heavily monetized as a Korean Gacha
You’re god damn I’m entitled to it. The game is a -blam!-ing rip off machine designed to drive addiction and spending real money
It isn’t about fun it isn’t about art it’s about creating an addiction machine that makes you pay money
Gacha games have unfathomable whales, in terms of spending real world cash. Destiny 2 is nowhere near that level of casino madness, I can 100% assure you. It’s not asking you for silver, to revive yourself in a grandmaster, or to pitch in all your bright dust on a slot machine to have a chance at an exotic weapon. There are just some things about Destiny 2 that don’t fit into that category. Yes, the game has mobilization. Yes, it’s an inconvenient layer added atop of the experience. Will they change it? Probably, probably not. For me; it makes no difference. I’m still gonna engage with it & voice my concerns AFTER I’ve had my time with it. What sounds bad on paper can often times play very well in game, and vice versa.
Also the addictive part, I have to kinda meet in half way on that. Because it comes down to the individual in question, so it’s not really a definitive fact that it’s that way for every player. Otherwise we wouldn’t have rising & declining numbers. Some people stick while others dip. I think that’s a clear counter point to your opinion. If it were addictive, the numbers wouldn’t fluctuate.
