500 glimmer as opposed to what, 2 legendary shards? They buffed bright dust economy and then hike the prices the following season? This is used car salesman level of marketing. It's not a big deal, but it's scummy and sketchy.

  • And the sweat equity of the programmer and designer that made this new system is reflected in the bright dust increase and limited armor ornaments. It like the people complaining about how the best armor ornaments are always in eververse. I’m like... duh!!! It takes resources to design and implement this stuff and EVERY business is always going to charge the most for their best work. And for the slightly patient gamer, you can get it for free by basically playing the game and earning the bright dust to purchase it... basically they are asking you to trade your sweat equity for theirs if you aren’t going to pay for it to begin with.

  • The programmers and developers don't see a difference in their pay whether their work is in eververse or a world drop, that's just not how any of this works.

  • They don’t... but Bungie also would not see any revenue from their work if they didn’t adjust prices. “Free” improvements are not really free for the company because it costs time and manpower to implement them. Sometimes companies eat that cost in hopes of more players buying the game (think of games that don’t sell well at launch and market free upgrades). In the case of cosmetics, it’s geared toward people that don’t want to wait and earn in game currency actually spending money upfront. With Beyond Light on Gamepass... there is a lot of “free” content out there for this game. You actually get a lot of content for $10 in the season pass. The highest margins are going to be in the optional content they create and sell. I’m not saying I don’t think it’s overpriced (20% at least). It really comes down to this... if you like the game, support financially. I pre-order expansions and seasons... and I feel like I get more than my money’s worth in entertainment hours. I don’t spend on cosmetics unless I REALLY like them... but that’s optional. I can make cool looks without having every single ornament in the game.
