It seemed weird cause their reasoning was that shaders are now 1 time purchases, but they have been one time purchases since collections was introduced, so nothing changed.
That's not true. Shaders weren't 1-time unlocks, they were 1-time bd purchases. You still had to spend in-game resources to use shaders multiple times, if they weren't world drops.

All they removed was the 2 legendary shards cost
-
& the 500 glimmer
-
Nope. 500g to apply, every time. Even for the shaders you had hundreds of in inventory already. Total bs.
-
Well if you delete your shaders before the update, you'll have more than enough glimmer to apply shaders in the new system.
-
Yeah but its 2 legendary shards and some glimmer, a price so small that they were essentially 1 time unlocks, we will still have to use glimmer to apply shaders in the new system so how is it different
-
It was like 10 glimmer or 2 legendary shards
-
*500 glimmer
-
My point stands
-
10 isn't at all like 500, but you can tell yourself whatever you want.
-
Both are super cheap
-
Then 40 & 300 bd are "super cheap" too lol
-
Except bright dust is much, much harder to get, unless you enjoy hamster wheels of course...
-
So 40 bd was expensive to you?
-
No 300 is though
-
So 10-500 glimmer (a 5,000% difference) are both "super cheap", but for some reason, 40-300 bd (a 700% difference) are in different weight classes lol
-
Except that glimmer is so,so, so much easier to get than bd
-
& pennies are easier to get than dollars, but nobody in their right mind would say 10 pennies & 500 pennies are like costs.
-
Glimmer is next to worthless and you have access to near infinite amounts of it, so it’s basically free and I never ever run out of it
-
Bd is more worthless than glimmer & you have access to infinite amounts of it, so it's literally free & I never ever run out of it.
-
Except bd is much harder to get as most of it is locked behind bounties and challenges, and I would rather bathe in acid then do those sooooo
-
Have fun with that. 10 & 500 aren't the same though.
-
Ok? But when it’s of a currency that is easy to get, we are talking a 10 second trip to the tangled shore easy, it doesn’t really matter how much of it you spend, but bright dust is much harder to get and it is very finite
