Staying afloat ? They just has their most profitable year. They done 300m revenue just from eververse.
-
it’s been “dead” for like 7 years now lol
-
Definitely not dead when they keep putting updates out.. And the first month of every season is loaded with players..
-
Pulling hundreds of thousands and sometimes over a million players daily doesn't sound very dead to me
-
Lol, it’s an international game (world wide) and pulling in a player base less than 90% of a single state in the US is pretty dead. Just opinion though
-
Considering it's a milestone for most games to just sell a million total copies, bring able to maintain close to or above a million players on a daily basis seems pretty dam good. That's no small number. If the amount of players total were about as much as the steam numbers alone, then i would probably say the game is dying. But being able to maintain hundreds of thousands constantly, that's far from dead. The only other first person shooters capable of doing that are games like CoD and Battlefield. Not even halo can do that anymore. We're far from dead my guy

I’m not arguing that we’re dead or not, but it’s not hard to get people to download a free game. Even before the game went “free to play” it was free on PC and Psn for a period of time. With that said, they’ve been getting more and more money focused than content focused. It was apparent that was the case when they adopted the free to play model in addition to their current model instead of in place of it

I used to tell people like you nah, you're nuts. But you're right. I haven't even played since March 7th, I only logged in once to check some FPS changes with new hardware. But yeah, in 2019 the average peak player on Steam alone was over 200k. Now its around 50k. Is that dead? No but I'd say its dying. I think for me the loss of interest is due to 4 things: the gameplay loop got really boring, they absolutely butchered sunsetting so much they had to reverse it (honestly, who the hell thought it was a good idea to sunset just to reintroduce the same gun with new perks but making your other IDENTICAL gun worthless? That person should be fired), they keep giving the new exotics and the new armor in the season pass so you don't even have to earn them and lastly, I don't like all of the preachy SJW things from them as a company. The first 3 are certainly my biggest issue and I could easily overlook my personal differences of opinion with their stances but it was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Then add in the push for people to spend even more on micro transactions aka silver and it just adds to my dislike/distrust of the company. At this point, I'm not certain if I'll ever be back. I read the forums for glimmers of hope, same with the TWABS but I just keep thinking yeah, my favorite game is probably gone forever. Such a bummer.

We warned them not to take our sh#t and go to D2. No one listened
