The NF levels with MM are just strikes with champions here and there. And most people dont even bring mods.
Imagine that, but on a master NF. Not having mods, not having good guns to fight the enemies, not having the elements for shields and so on and so on.
And most people dont even bring mods.
You really are an unlucky person. I only play nightfalls through matchmaking and it's a rarity having teammates without the proper mods equipped.
Imagine that, but on a master NF. Not having mods, not having good guns to fight the enemies, not having the elements for shields and so on and so on.
That kind of flawed argument is the same that was used against having matchmaking to normal nightfalls, way before champions being a thing in Destiny. But it was proven wrong. It has also been proven that the vast majority of the players are not dumb and can use the basic gear needed for the activity they're going to tackle. Thinking otherwise is elitist and wrong.

I notice you have 0 raid clears. Raids are not like nightfalls. Also, any nightfall with matchmaking is super easy. The reason they haven't implemented matchmaking is because 99% of teams that were put together in matchmaking wouldn't complete the raid, and probably somewhere close to that wouldn't even complete the first encounter. People would get frustrated and then quit almost immediately. What happens then? Does matchmaking throw more people in to fill those spots? If so, that creates other problems. As I said in another post, the only viable solution I see is the guided games. If I have a team of me and 3 others from my raid group we wouldn't care to get matched up against a team of two who wanted to learn the raid because they are acknowledging that they want to learn and so presumably will listen since we have experience and also that they're committing to amount of time a raid can take.
I notice you have 0 raid clears.
Yes, that's true. In D2. Played all raids in D1, though. I'm no stranger to raids. Still advocate for optional matchmaking in all endgame activities. Still don't understand why people that won't need it or won't ever use it, get so worked up against it.
-
Because spending their time bringing in matchmaking to raids when they know, as does everyone who has been raiding, that it simply won’t work doesn’t make sense. I used to agree with you. I made the same arguments and wanted matchmaking. Then I did some raids and quickly understood why it just wouldn’t work. They’re too complicated and require too much communication and teamwork. People would quit as soon as it became obvious it wasn’t going to be possible to finish and a match made team would never get past the first encounter. Just go on LFG. I -blam!-ing hate it, it’s full of toxic people, but there are some helpful people. If you don’t like LFG then I promise matchmaking will be 100 times worse than that. I 100% get your point of view. I understand it and sympathize with you, but what you want just won’t work. Go on LFG and complete a couple of raids and you’ll understand why.
-
Ok, fair enough, I can relate with your balanced point of view regarding raids. But as you've probably noticed I was referring to all endgame activities. Why not having matchmaking to legend, master and grandmaster activities? They're not near as demanding in mechanics and/or communication as raids are, but nevertheless they have no matchmaking and too many people around here run with pitchforks in hand against those who ask for it.

I wouldn’t object to it in grandmaster nightfalls. I wouldn’t for the proving ground but my buddy and I were farming the arms dealer grandmaster with just the two of us. I would have been fine having a rando match made with us for that since we didn’t need a 3rd anyway. And I want to be clear that I’m not AGAINST matchmaking for raids in the sense that I don’t want it, it’s that I just don’t think it could work. I do, however, think that the guided games was a good idea and is the only possible way I could see a form of matchmaking working. I thought it was a great idea and maybe could be tweaked to actually work.
-
I said I wouldn’t have a problem with matchmaking in a grandmaster but as soon as I hit reply I realized I actually would. Grandmaster nightfalls are difficult in the sense that it is very easy to die. It only takes a couple of shots to kill you even at full health and you have a limited number of revives. Even though the two of us were farming the arms dealer grandmaster without a 3rd if we’d been matchmade with someone the overwhelming likelihood is that they would get killed and if we didn’t think they were good enough we would refuse to revive them so they couldn’t waste our limited lives. They would probably spend the entire match dead waiting on us to complete it. It wouldn’t be because were assholes, but if you only have a few revives we just wouldn’t be willing to let a blueberry waste them.

"Thinking the way i dont think is wrong" Dude, some dont even know the ball mechanic in the corrupted strike. The people that will use matchmaking on master nightfalls will not have any idea on whats happening. Sure, have it at hero, were its not a problem and you only have some champions here and there. But on master is just ask to have problems.
-
Ok, let's say you're 100% right (which you're not). I still don't understand why an optional matchmaking feature would be an issue to those that play with friends or alone. It really sounds like an egocentric mindset, considering that no harm would be done to them.
-
Think, mcFly. When you have an optional matchmaking for raids, people will try it. And most will not finish it. Because they dont have mic, dont speak the same language, etc. Etc. After that kind of experience, people get to make an LFG post. But they want to be sure to win. Then we have the KWTD, be X LL, have X loadout or kick. And we dont need more toxicity on the LFG posts, do we? That, and if they make matchmaking for raids, they need to dumb it down for the casual player to win. At that point, we have menagerie 2.0.

Edited by CookieNiki: 4/8/2021 2:29:41 PM
Think, mcFly.
Well, I would reply to your arguments but since you decided to blatantly call me stupid, let's just leave at this. I like to discuss things with educated, civil people, which you just showed you're not. Please refrain to reply to me further. Moving on.

I... didnt? I made a reference. I didnt wanted to call you stupid. It wasnt my intention. Im sorry for it.
