It's a trash stat in PVE, in PVP it might save you from dying from 1 less hit.
-
Unless you’re in the Crucible.
Doesn't even do much in PvP. Stacking to 100 give you a pathetic extra 14hp
-
Agreed, having a higher resilience seems to not be effective.... doesn't make much difference so I try to run a well balanced stat loadout. Definitely needs a rework because in higher end activities like a 1080 Nightmare hunt while 1079 should not feel this rough.... the ability spam is ridiculous and it takes way too much to stun a barrier champions by yourself imo. Maybe it was not designed to be done solo and team shooting is necessary... Idk

Bungie and the people who get sweaty over the details are too caught up in the little numbers. Giving a player more health is a big game changer in a game like this, where ttk is a big deal, but in PVE, enemy ttk to players isn't as important as PVP ttk. Resilience needs a huge PVE buff. However, it's also kinda particular in PVP too. The number crunchers and Bungie are too worried about the little details. In an ideal 1v1 scenario, 2 players going at it, resilience can give the edge in a battle of attrition. However, the thing they are overlooking is that a 1v1 scenario where battle of attrition comes into play will almost never happen. I've been paying attention to my past crucible matches this month, if not longer. I can't remember a single time it came down to 1v1 and resilience mattering. I tend to stick with about 3X resilience, and any time I did manage to get into a 1v1, which was ridiculously rare, I either won due to being more accurate, getting the first hit in, being more strategic, or just being more mobile. The times I lost are either failed to predict where the enemy was, was hit first and couldn't get behind cover, turned into a 3+v1 against me, or just bad aim. 99% of my encounters are lopsided in number, whether there are more enemies or more allies with me. On paper, buffing resilience can break the game. That is what people fret over and why it barely does anything. However, in practice, those ideal situations that people worry over almost never actually happen.

even then it still has VERY little purpose in crucible. the only thing it effects is if thorn can 2 head 1 body you. so even then, its also pretty much useless in crucible
-
I’ve just had a horrible vision of the future; We asked for resilience buff We get recovery nerf
-
It makes you....resilient
-
I’m purposely keeping any high res drops and vaulting it in case it gets re worked for November since nobody really cares about it.
-
Might as well make base health 200 and change it to resistance so you can have a chance to ignore CC that'll be coming with stasis
-
Unless you’re in the Crucible.
It is even at 100. They only have it there to fill it whitespace. Like how you would when you create a interface for a basic online website. Bungie is extremely lazy. They just want to come of sophisticated lmao

Rework YOUR build u bot.
-
Crucible, but even then having X amount of resilience might save you from X gun within X range. Step 0.0000001 meters beyond that range and you could get away with less resilience. The way armor, stats, mods, affinity, prisms, and ascendant shards are all implemented and tied together is a convoluted -blam!-ing mess.
-
Even in PvP aside from barricade recharge rate it only really serves to protect you from getting 2 tapped by Thorn.
-
for the most part recovery pretty much craps all over resilience
-
You just need 70 of each stat

Edited by mikeyrox1234: 8/7/2020 10:15:28 AMFrom someone that runs 100 Resilience 99.99% of the time... YES! I only run it because I enjoy the 14 seconds Barricade. There have only been VERY few situations where running 100 Resilience in PvP have helped me out and Im not talking specifically about Thorn damage. Even less situations in PvE... If it were up to me though the Resilience, Mobility, and Recovery stats would be moved back into the Subclass menus like they were in D1. A Hunter SHOULD NOT be allowed to get as much armor as a Titan A Titan SHOULD NOT be allowed to get as much mobility as a Hunter Hunters and Titans SHOULD NOT be allowed to get as much recovery as a Warlock If we were to buff Resilience (more than 13% shield capacity) though we would have to also buff Mobility so it also increased sprint speed by a bit. ALSO give us a new Health/Shield bar, similar to Halo Reach’s. 1 separate bar for Health and another bar on top of the Health bar that is for Shields. I have come up with a whole new idea for our stats if anyone is interested... 😁
-
Technically... nothing really works in this game: Stats dont make much of a difference, especially in pve Power/light level is a joke and has been since D1 because a 750 power level enemy can still wreck face even though you outrank it by 300 points Everything is designed around a paper thin idea of “shhhh dont question it, you need to level up in order to play”, yet the more you examine everything, the more the design of this game falls apart Does this mean destiny sucks? No, its just someone came up with a dumb “prestige” idea(looking at you Activision) and then forgot it existed and did nothing with it.
-
Agreed, it's fine in PvP, but in PvE ultimately useless.
-
I feel resilience should reduce ability damage, NOT bullet damage. So having a high resilience stats should reduce a ton of damage from grenades and other melee abilities like shoulder charge. Imagine running 9-10 resilience and being able to tank a shoulder charge? Imagine being able to reduce a ton of grenade damage in crucible? To keep the game balanced, having a high resilience should not grant more health or armor because then it would break the balance of crucible but adding more resistance towards abilities would be really nice
-
-
Any piece of armor that has more than 6 resilient is an instant shard.
-
its fine in pvp but could use some work in pve there is absolutely no difference between 100 and 0 resilence in pve
-
I never pay any attention to any of the numbers 🤷♂️
-
Edited by T_rar: 8/7/2020 3:13:51 PMResilience should be strictly tied to ability regen for all classes. So unfair to titans theirs is tied to a useless stat. Adding health is super had to balance in a game like this where ttk is everything in PvP.
-
In PvE, Resilience should give you 2 or 3% damage resistance per tier, or multiply the amount of shield health each tier gets. That miniscule amount it gives now does nothing in PvE.
-
They will wait until everyone has spent 2 years grinding out high recovery armor then they will nerf recov and make resilience god tier to keep everyone on the hamster wheel.
