Here's the real problem: the Bungie who made Halo is not the same Bungie that develops Destiny. 90% of the Bungie employees who made the classic Halo games that are still played by many to this day stayed with Microsoft and became 343 Industries. That's the first mistake many players including myself made. We expected the Bungie brand to still be the same when in truth it's nothing but a hollow name that retained very little of the talent that revolutionized the FPS space epic with the Halo franchise.

Oh really? Well present your evidence Inspector Gadget and prove your case. Compare the list of people credited for the development of the original Halo trilogy to the list of people credited for D2's development. Let's see how many individuals are noted for working on both projects. Now goeth forth and Google.

  • What does the people who went from halo to destiny have to do with the people who went from bungie to 343? Your forum mind tricks won't work on me....

  • Firstly I am performing no mind tricks; they are ineffective on the mindless. Secondly my statement was that most people who contributed to the development of the orginal Halo trilogy - the franchise that Bungie built it's reputation for producing quality content on - did not remain with Bungie for the development of Destiny 2. They continued to work on the Halo series working for 343 Industries. Therefore the current roster of Bungie employees today is comprised mostly of staff who were not involved with the development of the original Halo trilogy - the IP Bungie formerly spearheaded the development of and gained it's reputation for being a studio that produces triple-A content. In summation: the Bungie studio of today is a completely different iteration from the Bungie studio as it existed prior to Destiny's development and is not entitled to the accolades and reputation the Bungie brand is often recognized for. If my point is still unclear to you perhaps I can try conveying it with the use of visual aids, perhaps a pop up book and maybe some shadow puppets thrown in for good measure.

Semicolon then "ineffective on the mindless..." hmmmm. Most people did absolutely not move from Bungie to 343. That's straight up wrong and if you were alive then you would know that. Many of the people that were responsible for the creation of Halo are still at the company and the totality of people who have left did not go to 343. Not that any of that really matters that much. The only point that I'm trying to make is that whatever is wrong with this game is not because people moved from Bungie to 343, which most of them did not, and that telling someone to compare the roster for Destiny to the roster for Halo has nothing whatsoever to do with people moving from Bungie to 343. They could have moved to the moon for all you know. Yes a semicolon, the proper punctuation mark used to connect 2 closely related independent clauses. Do yourself a favor and don't even attempt to critique my writings when yours are saturated with sentence fragments. Now I'm going to refrain from making any further replies to your posts, as I can feel my IQ begining to decrease from conversing with you.

  • Given how Halo 4 and Halo 5 were train wrecks, I can’t imagine too much of the old guard went into 343.

  • Halo 5 was an absolute disaster, but I thought Halo 4 was very good, just my opinion.

  • Both had pretty bad campaigns. Halo 5’s multiplayer never felt good. Halo 4’s multiplayer would have been great without the loadouts and the dumbass random killstreak rewards. The art direction of both games also made my eyes bleed. The new armor and enemy designs were terrible.

  • We're in complete agreement with every aspect of Halo 5. It is literally the only Halo game I couldn't even tolerate finishing. The Halo 4 PvP was not a favorite of mine, but I've always been more of a story focused PvE player, so I like the Halo 4 campaign enough to not call it a total disaster. I really enjoyed how Halo 4 delved further into the Forerunners, the back story of the Halo rings, and laid the foundations of what I felt had the potential to lead to great continuance of the Halo universe. Can't say I was overly please with the Cortanna elements and the final battle with Diadect was pretty lame, but overall I considered it a decent starting point for a new era of the Halo lore. With that said I completely understand and respect your opinions, especially when compared to the original Halo trilogy.

  • I can't think everyone went with 343, cause they've had so many struggles over the years that it would feel so off it was literally the same people in full

No you're correct not everyone left Bungie, but the vast majority that made Bungie a trusted developer did, and several key members who did venture into the Destiny series ended up returning to 343 if not as primary employees they were contributors to 343's projects and washed their hands of Bungie. Keystone members like Marty O'Donnell and Joseph Staten for example.
