This Is Just Sad
I remember when Eververse was first introduced to Destiny under the guise of, "Funding in-game events" such as the Dawning. It was filled with neat cosmetic items that complimented the game well, and the events seemed to justify its existence. Now fast forward to 2020.
We have stagnant vendors that haven't seen a full weapon refresh in over a year and armor loot tables that are just lazily recycled. Iron Banner takes it to a whole new level of making you do a lengthy quest just for old sets of armor.
We have new seasonal "Content Drops" that are so laughable in size, our most recent one is a public event spanning across 3 planets. Don't forget that they are limited per season, so they evaporate afterwords.
Factions have been tossed out the game for the forseeable future, because god forbid Bungie implements a simple faction system back into the game like D1 (probably because that would require them to dosh out new armor and weapons for their grand return).
Eververse? Its bigger than its ever been. Hoarding any and all cool cosmetics that could serve as end game rewards or reasonable quest grinds. So surprising as we all know how hard it is for bungie to develop new content! We get dozens of new items in the cash shop, its incredible how they manage that!
I know this seems like a rant and it is. But I just cant bare to see the state of the game has come to. I miss the simple vendor refresh with a new strike or 2 thrown in.

Bungie becomes independent and holds on to the IP Destiny. Players reacted joyfully on Reddit and Bungie employees reportedly cheered and popped champagne when the news was shared at a team meeting because, you know, Activision is a greedy devil. 2020 - One year later it is obvious Bungie has been this greedy devil the whole time. The wolf in sheeps clothing!

(With NO investment into QoL, dedicated servers, Comet DLC’s etc) that Eververse money is paying for the development of their next IP ([i]Matter[/i]) Question is, who’s gonna buy it ?- When they show disrespect for this once promising IP/Playerbase, one that we’ve all invested time & plenty of money into!

1 ReplyDo people actually care about vendor refreshes or is that just a thing to get mad at Bungie for? I don’t care. I’ll still use my weapons I like. I’ll see the new weapons or armor once, see it’s bad perks and trash it then go back to my ornaments for armor.

And how many people bought the eververse sets with actual money? To be fair, they did pay for some content. Zero Hour, Whisper of the Worm, 2 of the best missions in the game. Course, I would love to see the core activities actually get some of that content as well. It can’t be that hard can it?

Stop trying to be creative with the titan armor! It looks like you’re trying to make a Gordy museum. Go back to the classic style of destiny one. This new eververse set for the hunter, the helmet and the arms look fantastic.

2 RepliesLast week for 1st time since after Rise of Iron I thought this game is currently a turd. Been playing Division 2 again and loving it. Playing with friends again and boosting gamerscore. If Bungie had at least implemented new achievements in years it would help motivate those who prize that reward. Even laying off these forums for a week is Bliss. Hope D2 gets better I really do and that focus on Eververse changes. Give me an option to play as I want to and stop asking me to pay silver and not bright dust for ornaments I want and please let us have the still missing catalysts.

I would rather Bungie work on adept weapons or better raid weapons than me going to a planet and turning in materials for an hour to get a half decent gun that will be forgotten about in less than a month.

3 RepliesTruth is, Bungie have lost interest in D2, it's clear by the lack of content, lack of clear communication, lack of excitement like we had in D1 and early D2 uptil Forsaken. Destiny is a story driven game, albeit the story has been very poorly delivered in most areas of the game since D1. Where the journey would expand through smaller DLC, larger annual updates, now we've got public events instead of adventures or strikes, we've got hoard modes instead of raids, but then they're gone after 12 weeks or so and yet the journey advances, sorry but that's not how you drive a game like Destiny forwards. That's not how you engage your players, by having them grind bounties over and over and over to progress the story. IB again this week and for the 6th time we're regrinding armout sets we've alrwady had, oh but it's 2.0... But we're still grinding IB weapons that've been out since Forsaken, Where's the 2.0 Yr1 versions? Bungies Big hope to rescue D2 was Trials and its failing to do its job, fewer players are interested in playing trials. The silence from Bungie is deafening, seriously I remember all the live streams in D1, the excitement for upcoming events and dlc, community managers now are just posting the same cut n paste bs over and over. Bungie made a huge mistake with the current format, players that haven't played awhile fail to get drawn back in, new players get bored very quickly and veterans to a majority are fed up, burnt out and angry at how badly Bungie have made a mess of what truly should have been an amazing game.

I know the Destiny/Bungie Apologist Trolls will scream at me “then delete your Characters, Uninstall the Game and get off the Forums” no I will not do any of that. Cause the day Bungie gets their head out of their asses and the game gets better, I will come back.

I knew plenty who spend a sh*tload in Eververse and they still would, if the game was packed with content, but they are playing other games probably spending a ton on micro transactions in those games. Me I am pretty broke so I rather spend money hardware and steam sales. Bungo is running after Bethesda problems with game engine and micro transactions.

Microsoft and 343 introduced MTX with the release of Halo 5. People were pretty much cool with Eververse in the very beginning (I was) and hated the fact Halo 5 had MTX. (Guilty again) Fast forward to now and, MS and 343 did everything they said they would do with the MTX money, huge prize money was set aside for tournaments, and multiplayer maps were free for everyone, infact they made a few maps bc of the extra money. Oh not to mention MCC gets all sorts of added stuff, for free, with the base purchase of the game. Meanwhile Destiny 2 released with less multi-player game modes then the Original vanilla Destiny, and every “content drop” they have thier hands held out wanting payment while Eververse took over the Destiny universe! Complete opposite of what I thought several years ago!

1 ReplyYeah it’s not even the money, I’d gladly pay if it was fun and compelling. But it’s less entertaining than a remedial job stacking shelves now. It’s not worth my time, let alone my money.
